What makes the BC such a favorite?

Just out of curiousity, why do so many people favor the BC resort? I am leaning towards staying there, but it is more money than the AKL savannah view!! What makes this resort worth the money? We have three kids: 11 yoDD, 6 yoDS, and 23 mo DS. Please help me make up my mind between AKL and BC!!!

For us, there are three factors. 1. the Pool (that could also be factors 2 and 3 as well, we like it SO much); 2. location - we catch the boat to MGM, walk into EPCOT, walk through EPCOT to catch the monorail to MK (this most recent trip, the only time we got on a bus was for either a REALLY early morning at MK, or REALLY late evening at MK); 3. the bright airy feeling of the resort.

Now, a downside, for us, is breakfast... we don't like the little setup they have, just off the lobby, don't want to walk over to the Boardwalk Bakery, and don't always want to sit down for Breakfast. This is part of the reason we're trying out AKL in April. I really like having Mara downstairs to grab a quick bite, and of course, LOVE the idea of the animals. I'm kind of wary of the fact that AKL seemed kind of dark (at least in the lobby)... but I'm hoping we'll get over it.

The reason so many favor BC is because it's convienient to practically every place -- you can walk or take the boat to both Epcot and MGM and Boardwalk, and of course it has the best pool on WDW property -- SAB!!:teeth: It's like a mini-waterpark.

Plus it has lots of great dinning options between all the resorts right in that area that all can be walked to and World showcase at Epcot.

Have you considered a stay at the Beach Club villas? You can cook in your room or go out - your choice. You still have access to the SAB area, you are still close to Epcot, MGM, and the Boardwalk.

not sure what the current rates are but you can check out the disneyworld.com site to check.

:bounce:

Hi, we are staying at the BC for the first time in June.. just wondering what kind of breakfast stuff they have set up in the lobby...thanks..amy

They had a little room off to the side of the lobby that had coffee, pastries, some fruit, cereal, etc. I don't recall them having any "hot" foods such as eggs or bacon.

Hey, mickeynme!!

We stayed at BC this past Dec. and everybody is right - SAB pool is the best on property, so much so they have to fend off guests from other resorts trying to crash! And the proximity to Epcot, MGM and the Boardwalk are fabulous!! And it's a beautiful resort as well.

Still, AKL is our favorite, and we missed it during our stay at BC, so we are headed there in April. We just love the exotic atmosphere, the activities, and the restaurants!!!

Good luck with your choice - you can't go wrong with either, IMO!
