What made you choose your home?

For us, the house was secondary to the large beautifully landscaped yard, plus 5 acres. We loved the yard at first sight. The house is an older 2 bedroom house which is perfect for the 2 of us. Our township only allows one house per 5 acres, so it's not overrun and quite rural with farms.
I think we are the only ones so far who bought their house Not for the house, but for the land.

Was affordable, community seemed nice, and there was a tiny spare/storage room where I could keep the catboxes.
What led me to actually LOOK there I'll never know. It's over 1000 miles from my old home (and where I grew up).

After my DH passed, I knew I couldn't keep up the house we'd owned for nearly 35 years. We spent nearly 2 years looking for that one. I picked this one in 2 days, on a whirlwind weekend visit at the height of 'the plague'.
