What made me happy/ smile today thread

There were so many things that made me smile today. First thing this morning I told my son who had a big ole frown on his face, that he would burn 5 calories with each laugh. (dd read that somewhere) That boy has been cracking jokes and laughing all day!

I need this thread this morning - youngest son woke up whining....because he peed his bed. And the whining has continued. And DH is recovering from surgery..so he is useless.

Anyway -

Good thing - last night, sitting on my front step (ALONE!!!) enjoying a cocktail, watching the neighbors build the new fence. The weather was perfect, nobody was nagging me for anything, and my drink(s) was/were really tasty.

Disney - we go in about 80 days and I am soaking up anything I can these days. I am enthralled with the new AoA....looked at picture after picture yesterday...cannot wait to see it in person!

Smiling this morning at DS17. He got up early on a Saturday to take his friend to a festival in the park. Showered, shaved, teeth brushed and out the door by 9....with zero prompting from me. Made me smile.

kids are upstairs playing nicely- no fighting, whining, crying. That is bliss!

Got a text message this morn from DH that he loves and misses me.

He and DS are on a fun road trip to Colorado. Love that man!!!

It is windy, here in NE Ohio today, but I managed to get 2 pink rose bushes planted in the tall planter boxes on my patio. They are so pretty to see when I open the back door!

DD18 has been home from college for almost a month- she's "all grown up" now. I'm smiling because this afternoon she was curled up here on the couch with her blankie, next to her BFF16 (who's still a jr. in HS) who also is curled up with a blankie, watching SpongeBob. Makes me smile to see my little girl is still in there, and extra big smile to know she hasn't left high school friends behind.

We also went to a Court of Honor for one of DD's best friends who received his Eagle Scout award today. This is one crazy-busy boy (honor student, in the dance studio 20+ hours a week, teaches dance, chauffeurs younger sisters around while both parents work, etc.) who found the time to live up to his committments. Yay, Tommy!!

No happy thoughts for Disney, nothing in the works. Still living vicariously through the DISboards, and remembering last fall's all-too-short trip for Food and Wine Festival!

my DD18 has been making beautiful graduation cards today. Seeing her have a good day makes me smile.

Nothing Disney related today, but knowing the next time i go the new Fantasyland expansion will likely to be done, is a smile in the making ; )

well, i just got back from wdw about a month ago and, since DH just started his dream job 2 weeks ago (YAYYYY!!) it'll be a VERY long time before we can go back, but, DH is much happier now than he was at his old job, which makes me much happier.

oh, i work at a church, and once a month, the senior adults have a luncheon here, and the church buys chicken fingers, and the seniors prepare the sides...OH MY!! we had a great meal today! in addition to the chicken fingers, there were fresh, home cooked green beans; mixed vegetable casserole, hash brown casserole, baked beans, mac & cheese, icicle pickles (YUM!!) and all types of lovely, homemade desserts! they're all so sweet too, it's such a joy to get to spend time with them. we love our seniors.

I'm smiling today because DS14 is home, after being gone at Sea Base Boy Scout Camp in FL for 8 days! Missed that kid so much! Hearing his stories will keep us all smiling for a while!

Seeing pictures of my nephews wedding (Saturday) on facebook made me smile!

They are honeymooning at WDW and posted a pic relaxing on the beach there!

Little things like this make me appreciate waking up everyday!

I've spent the last few days at a fabulous resort with an 8 seat hot tub overlooking a river front sunset, a maid, and lawn doc ...lol....my DD/SIL's, while enjoying helping the our sweet grands . Attended our DGD's 7th grade award ceremony for straight A's and 4 academic awards . Have returned home now, as has DH returned safe and sound from his cross country road trip with our DS. Big smile time xo's
