What makes your clothes smell awesome!?

Just wondering as I've been assigned to do laundry now and I can't quite make it smell so awesome

I like Gain. I use the powder version.

Probably not the right person to ask because I don't like my clothes to smell so much that OTHERS can identify my detergent. I think one way to get a strong smell is with fabric softener or those dryer beads that are out there.

I've actually started using the Method laundry detergent in "Beached Sage". The clothes end up with a subtle fragrance that isn't quite a laundry detergent smell but is fairly crisp and refreshing.

I also always have Woolite on hand for my work tops/blouses and some other nice casual clothes that I have.

Tide, Downy, Woolite. I don't like lots of fragrance. I also use white vinegar instead of fabric softener with towels, sheets, sweaty clothes or when my kids would come home with the horrendous camp laundry.

I have always used Purex. I use to work for them years ago and have never changed, plus I am cheap! We never really get too dirty, so we don't really need a strong stain remover detergent like we did when the kids were little.

This stuff is AWSOME! I have been using this same bucket for for 2 years and still have about a year or more left. It does 1100 loads and only cost me $85. It works great, better then any name brand stuff and it's environmental friendly. Now it doesn't leave you with any great smelling clothes, they are clean and neutral smelling. You can buy scented laundry sticks for the dryer though but the smell is very subtle. I will never use another laundry detergent again. You can order it through Costco and they will deliver it to your door for free (at least here in Canada, not sure about the U.S.)

And Snuggle dryer sheets.

As long as my clothes are clean, I don't care what kind of perfumey smell they have.

I buy whatever kind of laundry detergent is on sale for the best price and frankly, I have never noticed that one works any better than another.

I buy whichever Free & Clear is available. Usually the Arm & Hammer. Sometimes the Tide.
