What kinds of things have you (almost) forgotten to pack?

Hi everyone! I love Disney Tips, it's helped me tremendously :) I was curious what kinds of items everyone has forgotten, or nearly forgotten, to pack? I was in the midst of packing, and discovered the sunscreen is nearly gone. Good thing I at least remembered it! LOL So what kinds of things have you had to pack or purchase last minute, or even in the parks?

Every time, it nevers fails, I always forget to pack my toothbrush :headache:. It always the last thing I leave out so I can use it before we go and I end up leaving it on the counter. Then we have to stop at the drug store on the way to the airport to get a new one so I don't have to buy a $10 Disney toothbrush. Maybe the next trip will be the first time I actually remember it, who am I kidding though really.

I forgot my shoes last July, and only had some pretty junky sandals... :headache: I could barely walk after the second day. Thankfully Daddy came to the rescue and gave me his shoes

Oh I'm so worried about that! No toothbrushes in the hotel room, huh? Dang, I'll have to write a lipstick note on the bathroom mirror!

 nope sorry, one time when we went and I obviously forgot my toothbrush we called the front desk and they said we could come pick one up. When we got there it was all plastic and hard like a dog toothbrush. My parents broke down and bought me a good one at the gift shop.

Okay- don't flame me- but back in the days when I had to pack not only myself- but two boys- I finally got wise and bought cheapo toothbrushes. Some of them were probably in those 4 for $1 packs at the dollar store! :lmao:

Once purchased- they went into the packing pile. At the end of the trip- once we got home- I just tossed them. (I know- wasteful, not thinking or acting green) But it worked for our situation.

I still do a variation of this. I have purchased a toothbrush to have in my "travel bag" at all times. I no longer toss it after the trip- but I don't have to worry about remembering to pack a toothbrush. It's always in my travel stuff.

Plus- I think it is a step up in quality from the 4 for $1 that I used to purchase! :thumbsup2

I pack older toothbrushes ahead of time and throw them away at the resort/hotel.

Drove two hours to airport out of state to be told at check in counter my lincense was expired. I of course had changed wallets and didn't have another form of id. My sweet Daddy drove across town got my passport and drove it to me. DH was not amused at all. Missed that flight and then first hour of MVMCP. We have trip planned in Oct so I got my new license aug 5th:worship:. And yes I do have the best Daddy in THE WORLD!

My driver's license! I always switch to a smaller wallet when traveling, and nearly forgot my license one trip. Thank goodness I did a last minute check and realized I didn't have it!

Also, don't forget your medical insurance card.

Insurance cards!!! Glad you said something :lmao: I had NO intention of bringing those hahahahaha

Sunglasses and contact lens solution have both been forgotten by me in the past.

Both are easily replaceable, but still taking time away from the magic!

I've done this. I went and bought one of those folding travel toothbrushes that I now keep in my large Vera Bradley toiletry bag. It never comes out. After every trip I also go buy a travel size tube of toothpaste to immediately replace the one I used. I now keep that toiletry bag packed at all times and have it hanging in my closet. As I'm unpacking after each trip, I just make a list of what's running low and replace it. When getting ready for my next trip, all I have to do is grab that bag, roll and tie it, and I know I won't be forgetting anything. I keep travel sizes in it of hair mousse, antifrizz serum, shine spray, travel toothbrush, toothpaste, extra contacts, contact lens solution, makeup remover towelets, cleansing oil, deodorant, travel size shower gel, lotion, and body spray, Body Glide, tweezers, fingernail file, children's scissors, mole skin, cold meds, heat rub, foot lotion, comb, brush, etc. I go to WDW several times a year so the stuff doesn't get old staying in the toiletry bag, but the bag is always packed and ready to go.

cell phone charger

My chargers are the one thing I'm always afraid of forgetting. I always charge my phone and MP3 player the night before, plugging them into a wall outlet that is low to the floor right next to my luggage. I lie them both on top of my personal item, so I can't miss them in the morning when I'm taking my bags out to the car. Since they're plugged into their chargers, I can't forget the chargers for them either.

Something I'm always afraid of forgetting is a comb and brush. I have now bought a couple of small ones just to use for travel that I keep in my toiletry bag all the time.

I wear contacts and forgot to take my glasses on one trip to a water park, then almost lost one of the contacts!
:scared1:
Now, I make sure to take my glasses and/or another pair of contacts...

This is a good idea. We do the same thing but we save the toothbrushes we get for free at the dentist to use traveling. I always try to buy cheap things or things we will use up so we can toss them at the end of the week before we come home. That way we bring back less with us.

Definitely remember to bring your insurance cards, never know when there will be an emergency. And if you happen to forget your cell phone charger - check with the front desk. I used to work in a hotel and we had a box full of chargers that were left behind and we'd let people pick through them if they were in need of it. If you have a phone with a universal charger, or a pretty popular phone, they may have one that was left behind they'll let you use :thumbsup2

On my first trip I forgot a lot of things. Mostly toiletries I left to the last minute to pack.

For all the rest of my trips, I put together a checklist on Excel. I list every single item I want to pack...including making sure my license is in my purse, money, sunglasses, keys...every single item that is going with me is on that check list, including flight itenerary, ADRs, etc. As something gets packed, the box beside it gets checked. If I take the item out to use it, I delete the checkmark. The list gets printed out right before my trip. I look at the list before, during, and after I walk out the door. I even look at it in the car to make sure nothing was left behind. I use this when I'm getting ready to leave WDW too to make sure I have packed everything to come back home with me. I leave blank spots so I can write down park purchases that need to come back home. My sister made so much fun of me for my list. But she has since then realized how wonderful my list is and started her own. Since using the checklist I have not left anything at home and I've not forgotten anything at WDW.
