What kinds of things have you (almost) forgotten to pack?

Last trip was in 08, I was trying to pack while watching the Live season finale of Big Brother and guess I was so excited I forgot to pack my dd underware! I remembered thinking "I have to grab that - I'll wait to the next commerical". Of course, I discovered this after we were at the resort. I bought a pack of 5 in the gift shop for like $35 or something. I joked that she had more expensive underware than me!!

Well guess what? I'm leaving for our next trip on Saturday have to pack still! I have to remember not to do it on Wednesday night while watching this season's Big Brother finale!

I keep a list on the 'puter of stuff to pack, which helps a great deal. That way I'm less apt to run off without our return-flight info or the phone recharger or the camera battery recharger. Other recent additions to the list: a hand-held luggage scale, a Garmin GPS (even tho the "woman" giving directions is ornery -- we call her Gar-meana), and the handicapped hang-tag. We also have to make sure we remember to "unpack" the rental car when we check it back in.

My chargers are the one thing I'm always afraid of forgetting. I always charge my phone and MP3 player the night before, plugging them into a wall outlet that is low to the floor right next to my luggage. I lie them both on top of my personal item, so I can't miss them in the morning when I'm taking my bags out to the car. Since they're plugged into their chargers, I can't forget the chargers for them either.

I have finally figured out a way not to forget things in chargers if we are travelling by car....

We put both sets of keys by the chargers so we can not leave without the chargers. If we can't find our keys in their normal spot, we quickly remember we intentionally left the keys by the chargers.

I have left my purse behind a few times when we were visiting family. Now I put my husband's keys in my purse so we can't leave without my purse.

I've forgotton the hair brush (more than once), toothpaste, and of course the underwear. Now the toiletries get replenished after each trip, and the underwear gets it's own giant ziplock bag that is the first thing into the suitcase.

When it comes to make-up, I only pack fresh tubes of my must have into the make-up case. I learned that lesson last minute, when I go to apply primer the morning of a flight to discover that I'm down to the last 2 drops. It's just easier when I can pre-pack the make-up bag and not worry.

As for the charger, I bought the universal Sharper Image charging pad. It stays right next to the toiletry bag.

I forgot to pack my bathing suit before going on my honeymoon to Jamaica. Although that was a long time ago, I LEARNED a hard & EXPENSIVE lesson and while I've never forgotten to pack a bathing suit since then, I always manage to leave something behind - it's sad, because I do make lists but always manage to forget something.

My husband and I each have non-expiring tickets. On our last trip, my husband almost forgot them.
