im in England
in yr 6 (or 6th grade) we have an exam called the 11+ and if you pass you can choose the school you go to and if you don't you go to any low school (bad schools with names like beaverwood and hurstmeare) i go to chiselhurst and Sidcup Grammar School

I go to public schol, but I usede to go to a private school, so I really know how the uniform thing goes. In the first year, we could wear nothingbut blue or khacki (sp?) SKIRTS or dresses (girl's uniform ) with a light blue top. Tucked. But in my last year, girls were alowed to wear pants all the time, with any color shirt!

ok i gues i can say we either have a VERY strict dress code or a kind of uniform. the girls have to wear either a kaki skirt or kaki pants, and the boys have to wear kaki pants. in the fall we are allowed to wear polos or oxfords, but we have like specific colors(i dont remember them, cuz they really dont care what color it is) and in the winter and spring we can only wear oxford shirts, except the seniors they have a senior privilage to wear polos int he springand our shirts have to be tucked in(but what i do is i buttoon my blazer so you cant tell that my shirt isnt tucked in). and we have to wear a blue blazer everyday w/ our schools patch on it. and for llike a formal thing like formal dinner the girls have to wear this really ugly kilt thingy, its like blue green yellow and red, it is gross i hae it and its not even our school colors(the feild hockey kilts are soooooooo much cuter and our school colors!) and every day the boys have to wear a surtain tie or bow tie, it either has to be their class tie or the all school tie. (the freshman tie is green w/ yellow stripes, the sophmore tie is blue and gold stripes, the junior tie is like blue w/ red and yellow stripes , the senior tie is red w/ silver stripes and then all school tie has red and silver stripes) and we have to wear shoes w/ leather soles, mostly people wear uggs or berkinstocks or heals or suttin like that. but we can only wear sneakers after classes or during practice or for sports. and then for the day before a game we have to wear special warm up clothes at practice and we have special warmups that we have to wear to away games. I think thats about it, its not that bad. like it may seem kinda strict but after a while you get used to it and eventually learn how to "bend the rules" and you figure out what teachers really enforce dress code and stuff, so its not that bad.
