What kind of laundry detergent do you bring when flying?

We measure powder with the scoop in the box and put it in a snack sized ziploc bag. We take a few each trip to make sure we plenty in our owners locker.

I bought Dropps at WalMart after reading about them here. They work great and you just "drop" the whole thing in the washer. They come in a zip-lock that is in about a 4 x 6 plastic container, and they are easy to put in your suitcase. We leave ours in our Owners Locker and then we have enough for several trips.

If you have one of those vacuum sealers, just measure out enough for a load and vacuum seal it in a bag. This last trip we took three individual bags for three loads of laundry. We have also used this on the Disney Cruises we have taken in the past. You don't have to worry about the bags breaking, it packs into a very small package, and all is pre-measured.

I was at our local Target this last weekend and there were 3 pkg of the dropps on the discounted discontiuned rack. I did not pick them up but just noticed that they are not selling them anymore. I have the owners locker at WDW but am going to HHI this summer (all my stuff is at WDW) was wondering if I put a capful of liquid Tide in a bag with something like a wash cloth/sock to hold the liquid if that would work. One load per bag.

That's a great idea for transporting liquid detergent. Thanks!

I buy the Tide Small & Mighty and use two ziploc bags just in case of spillage. Never had a problem. I also bring fabric softner sheets in a ziploc bag. I also ziploc my fabric softner sheets.:dance3:

Enjoy your trip.:cheer2:

What I've done is I take a small travel size clean shampoo bottle and fill it with All Small & Might Free. I use the cap and mark the side of the small bottle with a Sharpie marker, after every cap full. The bottle I used I could get enough in for 4 loads. That way I have my unsented detergent and I don't have to measure it, it's already measured. Put it in a couple of zip locks and put it in my bag.

Does anyone know how much the Dropps are at Target an d how many are in a package?

THANKS~

Dropps are also available at Linens and Things and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

You can also use dish detergent...just a small squirt though, as it bubbles a lot more than laundry detergent. When I was growing up, the lady across the street used dish detergent for everything...clothes, dishes, washing hands, washing hair, showering... And WDW gives you a small bottle of dish detergent in the room.

I also like the idea of putting a washcloth into a Ziploc, and putting the right amount of liquid detergent in there and letting the washcloth absorb it, and then just throwing the washcloth into the machine with the clothes. If you think you'd be doing 3 loads of wash, you could do 3 washcloths.

They do sell small boxes of laundry detergent at the resort gift shops...it's pricey, but it's a once a year thing, so it may be worth it not to have the hassle.

There's also the option of taking the bus to either the Boardwalk or DTD and walking across the street from either one of the to the Hess Express gas station which also has a mini mart where they sell that kind of stuff.
