What kind of Iced Tea does Disney serve?

Alright, lay it on me..... is it the instant kind that comes out of a fountain? Ewwww!!! I'm an ice tea drinker and I like it brewed, not instant. We're on the Dining Plan and drinking water is not an effective means for maximizing the plan. :scratchin I don't drink pop. If the tea is instant do they have other options other than pop? Not much of a lemonade drinker either.

Not sure on brands, instant or not...etc...All I know is that it is NOT sweet tea...lol...we are from the South, sweet tea is a must...I can tell you that Rainforest and T-REX has sweet tea and that is about it...We are pretty much in the same boat..we don't drink soft drinks either..we get cases of water ofcourse and in the restaurants, we order water (if that is all they have besides soft drinks) and do MIO or some type of water flavor. Makes it doable!!

Most of the fountains are Gold Peak, and I have seen their sweet tea version in a couple of places.

I, too, am a tea purist! Lol. Gold Peak is better than that weird fuze stuff, but it still doesn't taste right to me :sad2: it has to be brewed from real tea bags and hot water, in a big container, every day, several times a day. If it's sweet, the sugar has to have been added while the tea was brewing, so that it dissolves completely.

Good luck finding it at Disney! There might be a few places, but I haven't seen many...Starbucks, if all else fails!

We have found it rather odd indeed that restaurants in a theme park in Orlando -- i.e., in the South -- do not generally serve sweet tea. I grew up in the deep South, but tend to order unsweetened tea and then sweeten it myself...pretending that I'm being healthy, even if the fake sweeteners are likely to kill me long before the real sugar would! (I'll order sweet tea if at a BBQ joint or some other place claiming to serve southern fare, so I haven't totally forsaken my roots!) We were at WDW with extended family a few weeks ago, and I was amused by my mother, who was pretty quick to let the servers know that sweetening her own tea at the table was absolutely nothing like having it sweetened on the front end, so she would be having water instead. Not sure they knew what hit them (the grandma train!). Got to admit that I was severely disappointed that Whispering Canyon didn't have sweet tea when their whole dinner special is based on BBQ.

With that said, the unsweetened tea at most of the restaurants is actually pretty good and certainly seems like properly-brewed tea.

At cookes of Dublin it Was Fresh brewed, soooo good! Unsweeted of course but i prefer my tea like it (when a sip a hot tea, no sugar but i little bit of milk)

Well darn it, that's what I was afraid of! Gold Peak is somewhat better, and I can get it down, butttt it's not the same!!! I like mine unsweetened so I can add sweetner to my liking.

Wolf Gang Pucks has the best Iced Tea on property. I drink unsweetened.

I believe most of it is Gold Peak black tea (either sweetened or unsweetened) and comes from the fountain. I'm thinking that to maximize the DDP, i'll order hot tea and maybe just mix it with some ice to make iced tea. I'm just not a fan of the fountain stuff either.

Now that's a good idea!

Sweet tea can be found at Trails End over at FW, it's brewed fresh. The majority of TS restaurants have fresh brewed tea and not from a fountain. Just ask your server if it's fresh brewed

I am also a picky tea drinker, and yes, CS will have the Gold Peak. I do occasionally drink that, but I don't love it. It's better than the Nestea or other junk that comes out of a fountain. But most of the TS places do have yummy real brewed tea :-)

Here's to hoping that the TS meals I have picked out have the brewed tea!!

You could order hot tea and brew your own iced tea at the table. I mostly drink water at meals, but I do get hot tea sometimes also.

I am not a tea drinker at all, but my husband loves true Southern sweet tea. Wolfgang Pucks however has amazing homemade sweet tea, so amazing that I even drink it and kind of crave it sometimes.

I order unsweetened brewed tea all over Disneyworld: TS and QS. At the resorts, the urns are Gold Peak, but they have several tea bags around, and you could brew it, then add ice. Come to think of it, you could order hot tea, and ask for a cup of ice anywhere!

I feel like at the table service restaurants they have a real brewed iced tea but it's not as strong as I make it so it's not great in my opinion. Also sugar doesn't disolve in iced tea so if you want it sweetened, I'd order it hot and then mix your sugar in and then pour it over ice, though that is kind of a hassle.

I do drink the unsweetened ice tea at Disney World because it's just easier, but I can sweeten it with honey sometimes since the sugar doesn't disolve, Disney really needs sugar syrup (simple syrup) cause that's the best way to sweeten already brewed cold tea!

Some have gold peak and some have fresh brewed. This is at pepper marketimage.jpg

Gold Peak is better than most but still tastes fake to me. I believe TS restaurants serve fresh brewed unsweetened - I know I've ordered it and sweetened it myself.

I agree with PPs: nothing beats fresh brewed sweet tea - with the sugar added when the water is just boiled. I grew up on that and I'm not even from the south! :D

On a side note for all you iced tea lovers out there - in my quest for a quick fresh brewed cup, I've found Lipton Refresh k-cups (now called Sweet Tea) brewed over ice - to be as close to my homemade as I can get!
