What kind of glue/adhesive do you use?

I've just started making cards and LOVE IT! The problem I seem to have is getting the emblishments to stay stuck on the card. I made a Valentine's card and went to show it to my friend and the beautiful red jewel emblishments fell off. I had this same problem with getting googly eyes to stay stuck on my son's Christmas card he made. Any suggestions?

Glue dots or the Glue Squares from Glue Arts (these are even stronger than Glue dots).

Rebecca

I guess I am going to have to get myself some Glue Dots or Squares.

Thanks so much! I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!:worship:

God knows, I love :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc my bling!

I use the Scotch brand "Quick Dry Adhesive" - it comes in a 2 oz. bottle (from ACM/Mike's/etc.) and goes on white, but dries crystal clear. I use it for rhinestones, Dew Drops, Prima flowers/leaves, etc. Haven't had a single problem with it and like how it goes on - I have trouble with the ZipDry being a little stringy...

I'd like to jump in and ask an additional question!

I just started REALLY using my Cricut. I was running the single letters through my Xyron - but the letters stay tacky. Now that I am welding letters with my CDS, especially smaller font sizes, which adhesives do you recommend??

Again - I use the Scotch glue for many welded letters/words, but for very thin letters I use my Zig "2Way Squeeze and Glue" pen. (Again, ACM, etc.) It is like a ball-point pen, but with glue that dries very clear. Love it so much - Z2H and I now buy it by the dozen box. (We go through it quickly, but this box will last us awhile!)

I used to use my Xyron a lot for letters and shadows, but not so much any more. I find I have less glue boogies (!) with these other adhesives.

Thanks! Glue boogies:lmao: That is EXACTLY what I was talking about!!

I will have to go find that glue - no ACM around here.

Where do you get it by the dozen? I heart zig pens ;)

I hate the boogies! They also sell it at Jo's (you can use a coupon) and Walmart.

Ya know - I can't remember. I'll check my email, etc. and see if I can track it down. I remember it was a pain - I checked on Amazon (at the time) and some places were charging $8 for ONE of the Zig 2-way glue pens. I think I paid like $14 for the box of a dozen. This was much easier than waiting for the good (50% off) ACM coupons. Plus, who wants to use such a great coupon on glue????:rotfl:

TRM, there also is a clear "Scotch Scrapbooker's Glue" that also comes in a similar sized (about 6" tall) bottle. I do have a bottle of that (got it free with a rebate), but haven't yet tried it, but have been through three of the other bottles - in a year - of the white Scotch glue. Love it!

I would also like to know about the box of pens. Hobby Lobby has 40% off all adhesives this week, so I bought what they had, which wasn't much. I am trying to build a stash this year, with good deals. Those things are $3.99 now at JoAnn's. I'd love to be able to buy a box to last all year, the way I do it with my ATG tape.

Oy - the pressure! (I was glued - no pun intended! - to my email, trying to see who I ordered it from and scorched my corn and bacon chowder!)

So, just salvaged what I could of the soup but can't find anything in my old emails. I do remember I finally had to google search on "bulk" not "carded" glue pens, and the box of the ones I got are just all individually shrink-wrapped - they are not on a cardboard back.

I'll keep looking - I don't think it was "Create For Less" - which is the company coming up now when I google this. It was someone I hadn't dealt with before, I think.

DH solved it (he beat Z2H - we didn't see her post!)!!! He wants kisses from all of you! :lovestruc Hee hee...! He used a different search method on my emails.

It was from Scrapbook Pal - wow! - didn't think it was. The product ID is MSB10. It is for the squeeze and roll glue Zig pen. It is not showing up as a bulk item any more (it was in October, 2009), but I'm sure you can order them in whatever quantity you need @1.99 each. That is a great price.

I'll give DH a kiss the next time I see him (when might that be, actually?).

Sorry about your chowdah. Thanks for finding the info!
