I have a Fuji Finepix S9000. It takes beautiful pictures but I found that while at Disneyland it's too big and awkward. I'm going to start shopping for a new one in the next few days for our trip.

What kind do you use and why do you like it? Thanks

I just use my iPhone ! It takes great pictures for me, but I don't need fancy.

I recently purchased a Canon XTI, which I'm still in the process of learning, while I think it will be great for my Alaska cruise in August, I'm unsure whether or not to take to DLR in June. I would really like to take some amazing pictures, but at the same time I don't know about carrying it around.

I have a Sony Cybershot..not bad, but it seems to have a big delay. By the time I get the picture the kids have bolted from the frame.

Love, love, love the Kodak Easyshare. Takes the best pictures and always turn out great when developed. It is so small and easy to carry around. Love my digital camera (so I can erase them when I mess up;) ).

Canon PowerShot A590IS 8MP Digital Camera
love it, just need to learn about it since there is soo much on it .

Both my husband and I own matching Sony Cybershot cameras. They take great pics, and are very easy to use. The only downside to this camera is that I would perfer a camera with a bigger zoom, but that's only because I'd like to do a bit more creative photography. Otherwise It's a great camera.:upsidedow

We just got a Canon SD750 for this purpose. It was a debate between that and the SD1000, both have great reviews and are sub-compacts, easy to slip into a pocket or purse.

Is there a trick to getting the darn thing to take the picture quickly? My has such a delay...hold button down, it blinks, let up on button hold down..wait...by then Mickey is gone!

LOVE my Nikon Coolpix S2 -- very compact, takes nice quality photos, has a lot of scene options (nightime, daytime, inside etc etc etc) -- and it's "splash-proof"!

It's a little over a year old (got it for Christmas 2006) - don't know what the current similar model is, but I love mine.

And the battery life is EXCELLENT to boot! I haven't charged it since Christmas and it still has a charge! And I've used it occasionaly during that time.

I use an old Kodak EasyShare camera. Takes great pictures, but last trip I could not figure out good evening parade shots.

I also wish it had an HD SD slot as I'm picture crazy and would love to put more than 2 Gig on there for videos (oh yeah, it also does videos).

What I do is hold the shutter half way down, wait till it beeps, then take the pic. What I find is that if I'm taking an action shot, I'll set up my camera a few sec ahead, and already have the camera focused when I take the pic. It can be trial and error, but I've gotten many good photos this way. You don't have to wait for the beep to take pics. I've done this many times, and still taken some pretty good pics. Lately I've experimented with some of the different colour options you can shoot with. About 3 weeks ago, I took some photos of old cars and memorabilia in the sepia mode, and was very pleased with the results. My best advice is to really play with the camera, as the only way to see what's it's capable of is to play with the settings and see what happens. I'm now going to use more of the different colour settings on the camera. Otherwise, I really like the camera, and will continue to use it.:flower3:

I have a Canon Powershot S315. It takes good pictures, but it is big and bulky. Not exactly fun to chuck around in DL.

I use my rebel xt with all my lens (i have 5) and just bring my camera bag. But i have a stroller to hang the bag off of it so its not really a pain at all. but i cant image not taking my good camera.

I carried Fuji in Sept. but by lunch it felt like it weighed a ton. The camera I had before that was a Minolta Dimage X and it was perfect in everyway. No lag time what so ever and the repetitive shots I've taken are fabulous. Fit right into my back pocket. I didn't go anywhere without it.

But I dropped it once too many times and Minolta is out of business.

I use Kodak EasyShare CX7430. It's very easy to use and takes great pictures during the day. However, the pictures I try to take at night with the camera do not turn out very well.

DH just bought me an Olympus FE-340. Haven't used it much but I do like it. I wanted something small that didn't take forever between pictures. He has a Canon Rebel xti which is a great camera but heavy to lug around the parks.

There are so many choices in cameras that it is hard to choose.

Old nikon coolpix - great for outdoors but has problems with low lighting and a sony cybershot that does well with both. Both fit relatively good in a jeans pocket or small carrying bag.

My daughter has a kodak easyshare and it's not that good.

My favorites that are smaller are:
Sony W series
Old Nikon coolpix series
and the Canon S series.

Someday I would love to get an SLR (Nikon D40) but that would cut into my vacation budget each year.

This year we are doing a Yosemite trip. I still can't believe there will be no disney park for me this year.

a Nikon Digital 5.0 and a cannon 35MM...taking them both and a small tripod for doing night time pics this time...the Digital doesn't do night shots or low light well...the cannon is fine with it!!!:hippie:
