What kind of bag do you carry?

depending on what we need to bring either a small or regular sized backpack.

I carry a quilted backpack. It has a zippered pocked on the back side of it that fits against my back which is where I keep my money so it's safe. On the inside of my backpack, I keep a bottle of water, camera, rain ponchos, cell phone, tissues and everything else that I think I will need (but end up never using!). It's very comfortable and doesn't feel heavy. It has a pull string to close it and then a flap that folds down over that and snaps. I would probably be able to feel it if someone tried to open it.

DW has a purse/backpack. It looks like a regular smallish purse, but the strap unzips into two straps for backpack mode. She can carry it when she wants to, wear it when she wants to - she loves it.

We still use our stroller so, we carry a backpack in the bottom. We have a clear one I found at the dollar store. It's great when it has to get checked coming in. Just hold it up. Never a need to open it there.

I actually like a camcorder bag because it has lots of pockets for accessories and such and plenty of room to put camera, cellphone, etc...
