What keeps u going back.

For me, it's where we only have to concentrate on having fun...nothing else.

DS has many medical needs, and life is not always fun. What better way to let loose than at DW? He has no worries...nothing to think about...except having a good time. And that smile he gets on his face...as the castle comes into view...PRICELESS.

and I'll say it again.

When my DS8 is on Big Thunder Mountain.....his hands are in the air..... he's screaming like a 4 year old girl....... his wheelchair and all his worries stay behind..... and he's just an eight year old boy.

We continue to go back because "we get it," we really do... we feel the magic. pixiedust:

Us too! I love the feeling when you walk into the MK, look down mainstreet and feel the magic from the top of your head to the tips of your toes! The air in Disney is thick with it!

Because I always wanted to go as a child and never did. My dad, God rest his sole, was a workaholic.

Because it is the place where my DD who is high functioning autistic said her first sentence. "Wanna hug Pooh!" This was at a time when it was hard to get her to say just 1 word.

Because it is now where my DD is the most calm, has the most conversational speech and she actually asked to go back!!

Because my son, like Walt, loves trains and a day that starts with a monorail ride is always a good day in his book.

It's so magical, different from anywhere else in the world, and so darned clean! LOL Plus, it's well-organized and, for the most part the CMs are great; so happy and enthusiastic and try to be helpful. At other parks, a surly teenager who could care less runs the ride, at Disney, the CMs at Small World are calling out to my dd, "Princess, hello Princess!". Also, I know Disney really emphasizes the safety of the rides.

Awww, that touched my heart.:lovestruc

While sitting on a beach sipin a pina colada somewhere in the carribean is ok, I would much rather be screaming my face off plummetting down the
Tower of Terror!!!! Gotta love Disney!!

Disney is our emotional life raft on rough seas.

I love that line!!! When life gets overwhelming for me, I put on a Disney CD, pop in a Disney DVD or work on the plans for our next trip. It helps me get through the day :cloud9:

I have loved Disney since I was a child. We lived in So Cal until I was 12. My Mother took my brother and I to DL at least once every year. My 1st visit to WDW was during my Senior trip.

In 2001, I won a cruise for four. I took my two boys and my mother. We stayed in Orlando a few days after the cruise. It was so amazing to be able to return the favor and take my Mother to the MK. She loved it!! I can still see her smiling face watching the parade.

I lost my Mother the following year. I hold on to the dear memories I have of my Mother and the times we spent at DL and the MK. Every time I ride IASW, I get a little emotional remembering how much she enjoyed that ride.

I am grateful to my Mother for many things. One of which was passing on her love of Disney! I have tried to do the same thing with my boys. We are anxiously awaiting our next trip to WDW. I can't wait to go back!!! :cool1: :cool1:

For us, besides the fact that it is the "Happiest Place on Earth" :mickeyjum
it is the ease of a "self-contained" vacation. We are now doing girls trips, and one on one trips with each of our kids, so it is the ease that we can get on a plane and have all of our transportation needs, accomodations, restaurants, etc. all right there. It's just so easy!....and you can have a completely different vacation experience each time you go, there is so much to do!

I hear ya. My kids light up and I cry lol

 I am 2 very close to my mom well since I moved out and had my own family. My heart goes out to you. When we go back in 09 I will remember this post there are so many here that have stuck with me and this is one of them. God Bless

The first time I went to MK was after college... It was no big deal to me just another amusement park... and I never cared much for the disney characters or the movies....

It all changed when we had my DD. When I saw her amazed by the "world" I "got it". We now go every year (DVC) and have albums full of pictures and memories that you cannot put a price tag on. The outside world just melts away.

I've been everywhere and done everything... nothing even comes close..... Its a 'feeling".... its too bad most people resist it. They could double the price on everything and it it would still be worth it to me..... there is no price too high for family bonding, happiness, love.

Its not what we do or where we eat or stay in the park.... its being in a magical place as a family. :grouphug:

I LOVE Disney as does my Husband! And now our Kids do! DS5 asked me the other day why we couldn't have stayed longer at Disney and how come we couldnt just live there?! Disney is soemthing that my inlaws did with my DH and what my parents did with my sisters and I. Its a very familiar place and feeling as an adult now - the POLY waterfall still smells the same as it did in 1979!!! We both had amazing experiences/memories there as kids and hope that our boys will too! :goodvibes

DH owns his own business that is very taxing and time consuming. I am an almost full time worker, as well as family Taxi service, house keeper, chief cook and bottle washer to name a few. So when we go to Disney its a time that we can all relax, get waited on and do what we all want to do - when we want to do it. And most espcially, its family/kid friendly. Should your kids have an "off" moment, you dont feel as badly or as much like a freak had it happened at a stuffy ocean front high class resort elsewhere. The looks you get are usualy ones of sympathy and "I've been there!"... for the most part.

The magic is the biggest and most important thing! The look on our kids faces and even ours. I still get choked up when I see the castle or how excited we all are when we arrive and drive through the gates!! It costs a lot of money to go and we skimp and save for months, even years, to be able to afford to go. Its an important life lesson and we all appreciate the experince we get when we are there... Our kids are different ages everytime we are there, yet its still new and exciting and always magical for each of the 3 boys! Us too for that matter!! We let all the worries go of our day to day lives and enjoy the time as a family!! We got back just over a month ago and I am already looking forward to our next one 2+ years away!!

As a PP said, LIfe is Short. I often get a crazy look when tell people taht we will go to dsiney every 2 years while the kids are little. I then say that they are only little once, and we need to make the most of it and appreciate them when they are small. Its the childhood memories that are most important and I want my boys to have the same great, fond, AMAZINg memories that DH and I have of WDW from when we were kids!! Not sure if I explained that well, the feeling you get when you are at WDW is undescribeable and amazing!! Thats why we love it!! :cloud9: :lovestruc

For us, it's a place where we can relax and have fun, forgetting all of our worries! We've had a tough couple of years so it's nice to know we can go there and not worry!

We've taken my parents with us the past two years and there's nothing like watching them with DS - I think they enjoy watching his reactions more than I do! When we went to MVMMCP the first time, my Dad was like a little kid - it was so cute, he loved the snow, the parade, etc! I know my parents aren't getting any younger, so seeing how much they enjoy it is awesome! It's a small way of paying back all the stuff they did for me!:thumbsup2

I so know what u mean. That feeling u get it's a warm feeling u see people walking around with silly smiles on their faces and even people that don't even speak English look at u and smile. U look at their kids and smile and the same to yours. I have everything I want when we are there. My husband and my kids and the World. :grouphug:

The smile on my daughter's face. I took her on first trip last year and not a day goes by that she says "next time at WDW..." What can I say I am a sucker already planning her 2nd trip!

where else in your everyday life does anyone give a rats behind if you have a magical day?
It's an escape. It's one the whole family appreciates and enjoys. It's warm! lol (I'm from Canada)
The chance to meet people from all over the world in a relaxed and happy setting is a major plus for me.
The joy on my kids face as they take the ME from the airport to the hotel is priceless. I will never forget the look on my daughter's face when we pulled in to our resort. It was this mix of excitement and disbelief that she was actually there! That was worth every single penny I'd saved for that trip.
We're going back for our second trip in September. It's a surprise trip this time and it's KILLING me to keep it a secret. But again, it will be worth it.

We continue to go back because DH is a WDW nut!! My DDs and I love it too. We love that wonderful feeling of going under that huge sign welcoming us to the happiest place on earth! One day we will be able to say we have done everything there is to do, eat everywhere there is to eat, see everything there is to see! After all of our trips most would think we have. But we have not even come close!! We love to go with anyone who has never been, seeing their faces is something we will never forget.
