What items not allowed on Castaway Cay

And if you do decide to purchase their cooler and water, don't make the mistake we did by purchasing right on the pier when you get off the ship. They walk around on the beaches and sell them as well, so you don't have to carry it the distance from the boat to the beach. We were headed to Serenity Bay, so it was a bit of a distance.
If you purchase it on the island, don't you have to pay the Bahamian tax? There is no tax charged on the ship, just the automatic gratuity for beverages. I know it isn't much, but why pay more when you you don't have to?

I have no idea about the tax as I never noticed them for sale on the ship. I first saw them as we came down the gangway to head to the beach. At any rate, I am sure that the tax could not be that much and I would gladly pay it to not have the inconvenience of carrying a cooler with bottles of water and a bunch of ice that is melting and running down my leg all the way to Serenity Bay. It is worth the tax to me to buy one once I decided where we are camping for the day. If the tax is that much, I would be interested in hearing about it.

I did say it "isn't much." And the beverage teams do sell them on the ship at various locations.

I am sure they do sell them on the ship, but I just never noticed as we don't buy drinks from the beverage teams. And I had not ever thought about the tax, so your comment made me curious, but you asked why pay more, and I was just stating my reasons.

Oops! On CC last month, I floated all day on a swim raft I bought at a dollar store at home. No cast members said anything to me about using it. However, I did spend all day at Serenity Bay. So, perhaps the lifeguards let it go since it wasn't crowded there.

Thanks everyone-I'll take my 99
I wasn't allowed to bring my group of super-hot leather-clad manservants. "Not family appropriate" they said. Feh to you, Mickey!
Thanks everyone, I'll take my 99 cent raft and if they confiscate it, no bigee. Littleblackegg, if I had you manservants, I would never leave the stateroom!
