Country Music Capital of the World

Some natural things from Georgia are peaches and peanuts. About an hour from here, we have the "Carpet Capital of the World."

We've got the 'Lanta Braves (too bad I'm a Cubs fan;)).

Ray Charles and Gladys Knight sang some good songs about their state (Georgia on my mind, Midnight Train to Georgia, etc.).

We've had 1 US President (Jimmy Carter), along with one bad beer maker (aka Billy Carter's Billy Beer).

We also have many people that have received an education through the HOPE program (funds from the state lottery). Some wouldn't have ever thought about going to school without HOPE.

Also in PA.

Billy Cosby, born 7/12/1937 Philadelphia, PA. Went to Temple University.

Lancaster, PA. has the best shoofly pie ever.

Gettysburg, PA. wich according to the Travel Channel has the most haunted battlefield in the U.S.A.

And lets not forget the Mutter museum in Philadelphia.

Food....glorious food!

Wouldn't dare to list the number of FABULOUS restaurants....

Let's see... there's Tabasco, Community Coffee, Crystal Hot Sauces & Jellies, several poultry plants, Sugar Cane, lots & lots of seafood (shrimp, crawfish, crabs, etc), Perique Tobacco, Tony Chachere's seasoning, Chef Paul Prudhomme's Magic Seasoning, Zatarain's spices & entree dry mixes, rice (several brands), Cajun Injector marinades, Popeye's Fried Chicken (started in New Orleans' suburb), luscious Pontchatoula strawberries, citrus, Pat O'briens Hurricanes....I could go on, but my tummy's growling!

To go along with all that food, how about a little Cajun or Zydeco music? Some fierce jazz or blues might provide a fine backdrop as well.

Oh, we also have a proliferation of chemical plants along the mighty Mississippi and one of the world's largest petroleum refineries right here in Baton Rouge. There's also a GM truck plant near Shreveport.

And then there's the obvious... corrupt, colorful politics!

And I really can't forget.....College World Series (baseball), Track & Field, and NATIONAL COLLEGIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS - LSU TIGERS !!!

How could I have forgotten:

THE OSBOURNE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!!!
