What is your vocation?

I am a substitute teacher at present. I work as an interpreter in my church and just finished all the course work in an Interpreter Training Program. I will intern in the fall and graduate in Dec. I also will be taking the State QA performance exam and then will start full time as an interpreter probably in the school system but I also want to freelance.

I am a mom, an EMT, and student nurse who will be DONE in December with school!!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc

Vocational Counselor. I help people with disabilities find employment. Once they are employed, I train them in their job.

I am a school bus driver for some very special kids and I love it. I used to drive a big yellow bus with 72+ kids....but I am so much happier with my new job and some kids and families that truly appreciate me, as I do them.

I'm a full-time mom, and I work part-time (20hrs a week) as a ticket agent for a major airline. I like the mommy-job MUCH more than the airline job, but I like the airline job plenty. :D

I was a Systems Manager for 30 years for a firm that does record keeping for mutual funds. I have an education degree with a minor in English. I never used my degree. I am now retired. I think I will love it once I get through this move!

I have a degree in Computer Programming, but currently am working as the secretary in our church. I LOVE MY JOB! My hours and pay are perfect for me, and with 2 young kids, the flexibility is wonderful.

I am a NYC Paramedic and the Director of Operations of an ambulance company on Long Island. I love my job. I enjoy doing it so much that I would do it for free! Don't tell my boss! :teeth: The thank you's I receive give me more pleasure than any paycheck.

I'm the manager of a comic store. I do not like it. I got involved with it by marriage. That will all change in a few short weeks...:teeth:

I am a child development specialist. I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish (yes, I am bilingual) and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in infants and toddlers. I have worked in child welfare and in an inner city 0-3 program. Right now I work at a mental health center and counsel parents who are having some tough discipline/behavior issues with their children. I am also, most importantly, the mom of 2 wonderful sons (that's the more important job). I just sort of fell into this type of work. I have always been into the not-for-profit thing, and really enjoy working with people.

DH is a high school business teacher and he loves it.

I am on the managment staff at a 24 hour animal hospital . I do a little of everything there or so it seems . We are a 12 Doctor practice so there is always something that needs doing .
I'm also a Mom and a Firefighters wife ( that is a job all itself)

I am CSR/Clerical for a Christian Counseling Organization, My DH has just been promoted to a management position through an OSB Factory.

I'm a nurse for the last 17 yrs. currently working in ICU

i'm a social worker, in a long-term care facility currently. i love it and see myself in this environment until they take me from my office to my room!

i've previously worked with adults with severe mental illnesses, mostly schizophrenia, and with disadvantaged/at-risk kids. i definitely will always work with adults...when/if i retire some day, i'd love to work in a library!

I am a scientist. I have a degree in microbiology. I still like the field but hate my current job (due to a boss I can't stand and work I don't really care about).

I'm currently a SSG in the US Army...although this job is getting a little too easy/boring for me.

Going to college, plan on going full time when I get out, to get a masters degree in Social Work/Counselling...since that's what I've been most successful at in the military, and I enjoy it.

So, that will be my next(final?) career.

I'm an RN with a not for profit agency working with developmentally disabled adults and children. It is the most rewarding nursing job I've ever had. But my most important job is wife to a wonderful husband and mom to 2 adorable daughters.

Christine
:teeth:

I'm a medical transcriptionist. (I type doctor reports, etc) for a local hospital. But I work at home (or anywhere that I can bring my laptop to). I've been doing it for about 7 years now. It's great because I can be home with my kids.

I'm a lawyer...well, not currently practicing, but once you're a lawyer, you're a lawyer for life ;)

However, now you may all refer to me as the Loafing Lawyer, because I am on one extended career break.
