Southern Baptist (though I could easily be happy in most Protestant congreagations)

I'm so narrow minded I could look through a keyhole with both eyes :teeth:

I am an Apostolic Pentecostal. I believe in repentance, baptism in Jesus name and infilling of the Holy Ghost. Mostly though, I feel like we should strive to be like Christ. I am definitely a work in progress and I can see that I am growing and developing as a christian. I'm not where I want to be but I sure am a lot further along than when I started out.

I put agnostic, but if I had to actually select a religion, I would probably say Wiccan because I just feel a real connection to the Earth.

Belief, but no religion because there is obviously no ONE truth.

If Truth exists at all, then there is only one truth actually. It doesn't matter if what is "my" truth is not "your" truth or not, but if there is a truth it is correct and everyone else is in error.

I am and was raised Catholic. Catholic School the whole nine.

I plan on staying Catholic, although there are times that I become curious of the Episcopalian Religion because I think they are a very similar match. I'd love to have the differences outlined in front of me one day.

Raised a Unitarian Universalist I would consider being a Humanist as my foundation. My daughter is a 3rd generation UU.
Arguing with a UU is like wrestling with a pig. Pretty soon you realize the pig likes it.

Why can't UUs sing very well in choirs? Because they're always reading ahead to see if they agree with the next verse.

UUs are the people who pray, "To whom it may concern....

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or as some call it, The "Mormon" Church.

other... Gnostic Pagan

Many might want to lump all Pagans into "New Age" but they aren't. Wiccan bing a newer religion is "new age" but there are many Pagan religions that predate Christianity. Gnostics would basically (in very simple terms) be the opposite of Agnostics. We think there is a bit of truth and evidence in everything.

How about an "I really don't know?" I believe that there is a God. I believe that Jesus existed, but I don't know if he was "the son of God" or "the savior." I do celebrate Christmas, but that is how I was raised. I was never baptised, but my sisters were babtised Lutheran as was my Dad and my Mom was Catholic. I got married in a Lutheran church. I pray to God and ask for his spiritual guidance. I believe in a Heaven, I believe that when we die, that is where we go. I am not really sure where the "bad guys" go. I could go on and on about what I do believe, and I doubt it would get me any closer to belonging to one religion, as I don't feel that God requiers (sp) us to devote our lives to one church to believe in Him. My oldest son asks questions all the time, I give the best reply that I can. I "send" him to the best experts I can find if I don't know. He has expressed a lot of interest in Judaism, and I support him wholeheartily in that.

I have my own set of beliefs that have changed through the years based on life experiences. My parents and family never pushed religion on me and I am grateful for that. It had always been my choice. :)

I was speaking only for the current crop of religions. I believe this quote form the movie Dogma is right on....

"When are you people going to learn? It's not about who's right or wrong. No denomination's nailed it yet, and they never will because they're all too self-righteous to realize that it doesn't matter what you have faith in, just that you have faith. Your hearts are in the right place, but your brains need to wake up."

I must say I like that too. That is what I think, you just have to have faith.

Took the "what religion should you be quiz" and I was a 100% match for UU. I guess b/c I primarily believe to each is own and as long as you are a good person that is all that matters. Funny thing is I'm Catholic and that was actually last on the list! Maybe I'll have to look into to it. Liberal Prostestant was 96% match...maybe I'll start there!

I told you...some people will be surprised when you take that quiz. I think it's because for some people you just grow up in a certain religion and never really question it. I'm a firm believer in chosing your own religion instead of being born into it.

Jewish, but moreso a cultural Jew vs. a religious Jew. I don't keep Kosher or go to Temple every week, but I respect my ancestry and the basic principle of Judiasm. I was bat mitzvah'd and learned to read Hewbrew. I will be married (someday) by a rabbi and will raise my children Jewish. As I get older I am attempting to learn more about the religion and am taking a 10 day trip to Israel in late August under a program called Birthright Israel to learn more about its history and culture.

Thanks we passed it around the office...good thing for a Friday afternoon. One friend was buddist...another a UU like me! Many were surprised at their results. We also took the Dante's inferno test...that was funny...what level of "hell" you will go to!

On that test one of my top 5 is always Quaker. I had always had a view of quakers as "findie" christians. I was then talking about the test with a pagan friend and found out she was raised quaker and agreed it has a lot in common with the pagan path we are both on.
