What is your prediction for crowds the first week of January?

So my wife and I are sort of newbies at this. We have really young kids and, while we have been to DW a couple of times, have only been to Disneyland twice in the past. We are trying to find a time to go in January. My wife is really for going the first week of January. I am just a little concerned with how crowded it may be; so we decided to ask the experts.

What are your predictions? New Year's Eve is on Saturday and New Year's Day is on Sunday. It looks as if they are planning to keep up all the decorations and attractions through the next Sunday (the 8th). I am a little worried (especially since this is the first week in a while that AP holders are able to use their passes due to blackout dates). Is it going to be packed on the 2-6? Are we better waiting until the next week if we are trying to avoid mass chaos?

Our fam loves DL and we really want to see all the holiday decorations. But I went to Disneyland once when it was mobbed and swore I would never do that again? Anyway, let us know your thoughts on whether you think the first week of January 2012 would be a good time to visit or if we should wait another week or two.

Thanks,

Kind of busy. Because many school get two weeks off some are getting the week before and the week between the holidays some the week of and the week after.

It's not 50/50 one or the other but together with the AP's being unblocked effect it will be a bit busy. But when AP's are all unblocked it's because the parks are not that busy to start with. So it won't be empty but not terrible.
