Hello fellow cruisers...my wife and I had decided to add a quick 3 day DCL cruise after our 4 day stay at the Boardwalk in September. We booked at category 12 GTY since we spend little or no time in the cabin and it is only for 3 nights...but now my daughter and mother in law thought they might like to come along....so we added them to the cabin...my question is this....is it going to be so crowded it will be almost impossible to move and how do the sleeping arrangements work in a category 12 with 4 adults? Any and all info would be most appreciated....checked pricing now and there are no lower cabins available to book a second cabin.

Thanks all....

Tom,
You will have a queen bed ( fits 2) and your couch folds down into a double(fits 2). Some rooms actually have a bunk bed that pulls down from the wall that is for a child. So 4 of you will fit with the bed and couch. However the couch felt like a small double to me. There is a double closet to hang clothes, but 1/3 of that is taken up by a shelf with a safe for your use, and only about 10 hangers in all. You could probably ask housekeeping for a few more when you first arrive. The desk has a few drawers for clothes, they are narrow, but fit socks and underwear nicely. Some rooms have a standup chest with 4 shelves in it to stack clothes too. Your suitcases will fit into the closet on the floor. We get 3 big suitcases in there. It will be tight, but do-able for you and your family. Especially if your out of the room a lot like we are. There is a privacy curtain that can be pulled across between the bed and the couch too. Hope this helps a little.

You will automatically be upgraded to a Cat 11 (there are no Cat 12's that hold 4)...DCL will book 4 into a 12 but will automatically upgrade them to at least an 11.

You will have be a Queen bed (sleeps 2) as mentioned above (and can be separated into two twins) but the sofa is only a twin size, not a double....another bed will pull down from the ceiling to accomodate the 4th person. All cabins that sleep 4 are arranged this way....except of course for the suites in Cat 1, 2 or 3.

Cat 4 cabins have the same arrangement but also have a pull down bed from the wall (Murphy bed) that will accomodate a 5th person.
