What is your opinion on the United Kingdom?

Of course some on the DIS consider a job paying $150,000 a year middle class. That's triple what I consider a middle class salary to be here.
Absolutely agree! $150k a year around here is downright rich.

I also grew up thinking chefs made bank. It wasn’t until I met my husband that I realized most make next to nothing, even in nice restaurants.

3 weeks for pneumonia
2 months for a double mastectomy & breast reconstruction
3 months for maternity leave

Obviously some people in the entertainment industry make exorbitant amounts of money, but I think a vast majority do not. My cousin has worked in films and tv for a number of years as a props master and set decorator. She is definitely middle class, but has worked on films where the actors are making millions.

My brother in law is a camera operator in Big Brother. He gets paid $100/hr with 40 hour work weeks. He works about 12-16 weeks per year and then collects unemployment the other 9 months. It's a total scam. A lot of people in the entertainment industry work this way.

I have 2 items my grandmother gave me as a child, at least 60 yrs ago...a small wooden rocking chair she brought from a visit to England and a small, almost toy sized, metal sewing machine. I also have crocheted doilies she made. Probably my most cherished item is the flag that draped my father’s casket when he died.

I don’t have much that I would consider sentimental. My wedding rings, a small urn with my moms ashes and the China, crystal and silver my parents gave to me before they moved (not my style at all but my mom loved it)

I missed a week when I was hospitalized with a sinus infection that turned into orbital cellulitis. Prior to the hospitalization, I had been sick off and on for over a month and missed quite a few days of work.

NO SWAP
one side my neighbor just widowed for the 2 nd time
other side, a man who is *** about his property and should live in a community with HOA rules BUT he wants his extra garage for his classic car..........., not a personable human being.

I'm not a sentimental person and like to change everything up all the time, but the one thing I value the most is my Grandmother's diamond ring, and even THAT gets eyeballed from time to time with me thinking of ways to change it so that I can wear it more often. It sits really high and I wear gloves at work everyday. I'd love to have the diamonds set in a low profile setting someday but I'm torn. I mean, what good does it do always sitting in a box?

I was out for over a month with Mono that was undiagnosed as an adult. That was rough! I've never slept so much in my life. I went to the doctor 4 times and nothing helped. I only recently figured out what I had by randomly reading the symptoms online one day. I guess they don't typically test an adult for mono, no matter how many times you go in and how much money you waste trying to get help.
