What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

Please help me!! I have tried rolling and my clothes are a wrinkled mess!! I gave up on this last trip and just packed. I would love to roll though and possibly eliminate a suitcase, if I could.

Thanks,

I've traveled a good bit, and one of the most helpful sites I've ever found was www.onebag.com. Click on the button "how to pack-->clothes" for how to "bundle" your clothes. If you do it correctly, you have minimal to no wrinkles at all. It also saves even more space than rolling them, which I also tried and had incredibly wrinkled clothes. The rest of the site is also really great, but I'm forever grateful for learning how to bundle clothes when I pack! Hope that helps!!!

When we went last month we took an old wash cloth and would wet it every night, put it in a ziploc baggie and put it in the freezer so by morning it would be frozen. And we would use that as a quick cool down when we were standing in line for a ride. It would still be cool to the touch by the end of the day.

Love the cut-up flannel tablecloth idea. Along the same lines, I get a few of those really thin plastic party tablecloths, cut them into sections, place a few in several small ziplocks, and put a ziplock in everyone's backpack/purse. Then, even if we have separated for a bit, we all have access to something to keep our bums dry if needed.

I zippered allergy reducer pillow case. If I end up with a feather pillow this is a life saver!!

If you ever do end up with just feather pillows at Disney, call mousekeeping. There's usually at least one non-feather pillow, but we did encounter it once and it was no big deal for mousekeeping to bring us two :)

Thanks for all the wonderful tips of what to bring and what not to bring - so helpful for our upcoming trip in Oct/Nov !! Thank you all!! :)

Finally got through all 90+ pages :cool2:
I'm planning my high school senior trip for 2015 - so far away, I know - & I'm in love with this thread. Even though I don't have kids (what a relief, right?) I've found some incredibly useful tips.
Thank you all so much for your suggestions!:goodvibes

Not for everyone, but since we drive I've also been taking my yoga mat with me on recent trips. It is a heavenly lifesaver (or leg saver?) to be able to stretch sore muscles after a long day of walking or to be able to grab a few peaceful moments in the morning before the rest of my family wakes. It really helps me get my day off to a great start both physically & mentally. :thumbsup2

This is not anything to bring but I read a few posts here about taking a picture of your return information if you lose the camera. One thing I always do is take a picture of the parking lot row by taking a pic of where it is painted on the end of the isle before hopping on the tram. You think you will remember but inevitably after a long day of Disney magic, you just may not remember.

Love!

One of my "must bring" items is the stall stopper - it's a great little invention to keep a restroom stall door closed if the latch is broken. It was very handy on our last trip to Disneyland when one of the bathrooms had two stalls with broken latches and a line of people waiting - I was able to skip the line and use the stall stopper to secure the door, and got my then-3yr old DS on the toilet in time to prevent an accident.

It's great for also keeping the door securely closed if you have a small child who likes to fiddle with the latch while you're going to the bathroom. I use it for that more than I've needed it to fix a broken stall door, but I'm always thankful to have it when I do need it.

It's called a Stall Stopper

That's great! I wonder if a super-sized binder clip would also do the job?

Must have: Chill Skinz....a towel that you keep wet (damp) and its stays coolernthan the air. This is a must since I go with DH & DS in August!

This year I am bringing some of these:
Hormel-Compleats.jpg

I can put them in my checked bag! (yay for free checked bag on JetBlue).
My room has a microwave so they will make a great emergency meal and don't need to be kept in a fridge. (my room will have one of those too, however my luggage will not)

While we will be at the parks for most dinner times, I have more than once returned to my room at night only to be starving and in want of reall food, not cookies and chips. Kind of inconvenient after 11pm when you don't have a rental car and in either case just want o eat, shower and sleep.

I like to go ahead and make room to bring my own snacks and food (shelf stable) and anything we consume leaves room for souvenirs on the way home!

Since I always make a binder up of our trip with divisions for maps, reservations, car rental, airline confirmations, attractions we want to see, etc., I put in some extra clear sheet protectors/envelopes to put our receipts in or whatever else we want to save. That way everything is in the binder. Very handy.

Thought I might be the only one who did this (I'm a bit obsessive!) Good to know someone else does it to!!!! Comes in very handy :)
29 days till WDW
