What is your most ridiculously easy dish that draws raves?

Add a little jam, that toast will be downright gourmet :thumbsup2

See, now you lost me. :lmao:

My kids have been programmed to believe that only butter goes on toast (they're lucky they get jelly with peanut butter :rotfl: )

I also do a pot pie that my family is a fanatic for (and DD and I are vegetarians). It's our best "comfort food." DH loves it too, even without the meat!

2 frozen pie shells
1 can cream of potato soup
1/2 cup of milk
1 can mixed veggies (drained)
1/2 tsp. thyme (to taste)
dash of pepper

Mix the soup, milk, veggies, thyme and pepper and put in the slightly thawed pie shell (and use the other one to "top" it).

Bake at 350 for about 35 minutes. Yum!

Very filling!!

I got these recipes from Real Simple magazine. I haven't tried them yet but I plan to for holidays and get togethers.

I love the Real Simple magazines :lovestruc

I have not seen this particular issue yet, but I will be on the hunt for it tomorrow. Thanks! :magnify:

Well, let me start this by telling you I do not cook. I find it a chore, like my food dry and burned. My dh does all the cooking much to the delight of my dd-14 and ds-10.

BUT, on Sundays we always have "Family Breakfast"-usally more in the fall/winter than Spring/summer since we run out to softball/baseball games on the weekend in Spring/Summer, Karate, etc. and I always "help" my dh cook.
Anyway, since my dd was young enough to understand me, I've always said
"mom is making my famous toast". Now, I get requests for my "famous toast" whenever we eat breakfast :confused3 Sometimes I burn it a little more than usual by mistake but I still get requests
This morning I was called out of bed to "make my famous toast" since the bacon was almost ready. Up I got. I could not disappoint

Ingredients:
Toast
Butter

I too can only handle no more than 3 ingredients or I loose interest :scared1:

You cannot lose with toast and butter :thumbsup2

I love that you have a Family Breakfast, and I also love that you got up this morning so that you would not disappoint :worship:

Crock Pot Dinner:
Place pork chops on bottom of Crock Pot
2 cans Cream of Mushroom soup over them
1 box Chicken Stove Top Stuffing poured over soup
1 sliced apple on top.
Cook on low for 5-6 hours.
Pork chops, stuffing, gravy + apples .. umm

Dessert:
1 large can sliced peaches and juice
1 box Butter Pecan cake mix
1 stick melted butter poured over top
sprinkle with chopped pecans
Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.. smells heavenly! Like Butter Pecan ice cream!

Strawberry Twinkie Cake

Box of Twinkies
sliced strawberries
cool whip

Layer bottom of pan with twinkies, spread cool whip over, top with sliced strawberries.

Repeat until all ingredients are used.

Ice Cream Pie

Vanilla (or other flavor) ice cream softened
Chocolate cookie pie crust (we like oreo)
Fudge Sauce
Whip cream

spread a thin layer of fudge sauce in bottom of pie crust
spread thawed ice cream to fill

Place in freezer and let set
Remove and top with remaining fudge sauce

Refreeze

Garnish with whip cream and mini oreos or choc chips, etc. before serving

Thank you so much to the OP for starting this thread! :worship: :worship: :worship: These are exactly the types of recipes that I love. Easy peasy! I hate to cook and I'm almost at the "Famous Toast" stage, but I can handle most of these!

BTW, how do you save your favorite recipes from a post like this???

I copy the posts I like and save them in microsoft word and then I print them out and take them home and put them in a binder-- so its a homemade cookbook. My kids love this book because these recipes are easy enough for them to use too! :thumbsup2

You're welcome! :) :goodvibes I'm just glad other people have and need easy recipes too! Aren't we all usually in a time crunch with a zillion things going on? Sometimes you just want the big red Easy button like on the Staples ads.

I make the same thing except I use Orange Marmalade. It is so easy and so tasty.

Sorry but I am going to continue the sour cream trend, lol.

Hasbrown Casserole

1 bag tater tots THAWED
1 lbd cheddar cheese
1 container sour cream

Using a fork, cruble the thawed tater tots. Mix with cheese and sour cream. Bake at whatever temp is on the tater tots until brown :rotfl: I don't measure this one anymore!

Mix up a packet of Knorr parma rosa sauce. Add some minced garlic and chopped sundried tomatoes while it's simmering. Add a couple pieces of cooked salmon (great use for leftovers). Pour over hot fettucini noodles. Top with grated parmesan cheese.

YUMMY! Sometimes I add some chopped fresh spinach as well.

I was just looking at all the recipes here and hoping for an index so... I made one. Hope this helps everyone find their favs.:goodvibes

DisneyDaz, Thank you for the index! When I get a chance, I'll copy it to the first post.

I have two super easy recipes to post too. I just tried them recently. One is shrimp Newberg, I found a recipe that is so easy to make and it's such a good comfort food. Also Shrimp scampi, using a bottled sauce (low in sodium). Super quick and tasty.

Thanks again, DisneyDaz!

Glad to see this thread resurface!!! I actually just sat here and read the ENTIRE thing!!!

I must say, there are some really yummy sounding recipes in there. MMMMM

Gonna have to try some out!!!

"Crab" Pasta Dish

1 pkg fake crab (surimi)
1 envelope broccoli noodles and sauce
1 bag frozen broccoli

cook noodles and broccoli (separately) according to pkg instructions
heat surimi through
mix together and eat!

(Doesn't keep well, so eat it all!)

mashed patatos (the kind from the box) and cheese singles. Rip up the singles and toss them in the mixed patatos. Easy quick cheese patatos (takes under 5 mins too!)
