What is your "minimum stay requirement" to make buying a mug worthwhile?

We are doing a split stay (w/ a cruise between) on our upcoming trip. We'll have 2 nights at Pop then 6 nights at CBR. Is it "worth" it to buy the mug for Pop? Our first day we'll have "resort time" until MVMCP, the second day, some, and breakfast the last morning.

What is your value cutoff for buying a mug (or do you care and just want it for your coffee to remind you of your trip? :earsboy: )

My minimum stay requirements for us would have to be one day. I am collecting mugs from each resorts... so this is a must. But if I have been to that resort already and already have a mug from there... the minimum stay requirents would have to be at least 3 days for us to make the mug purchase worth it.

I wouldn't purchase the mug if I were staying less than 5 days at any resort. We also don't purchase if we are staying concierge, since beverages are a plenty.

I'm with the one day crowd. I love to use them at home for coffee in the car in the morning and each mug reminds me of the various awesome vacations we've had in WDW. I will always buy new ones from each new resort we stay in.

question : are the mugs only at the resorts? Are there any refillable pop mugs/cups at the parks? Can you take them from park to park, day to day?

thanks!

Add me to the group that collects them. I purchase at least one from a new resort and it depends on how long the stay and how far we are from the foodcourt for repeat resorts. For example at AKL we were quite a walk from the Mara and so DH often didn't want to walk "all the way" to refill the mug so he would visit the soda machine. If we drive to the parks then we put the mug in the car and fill it before going back to the room. That seems to work very well. When we stayed in the CR tower it was very easy to refill the mug so even a shorter stay 3 nights may warrant a purchase. Especially since we use it at least twice a day.

When I get home I use them for coffee at work. I really love being able to look at my mug and remember the great times we've had and the ones yet to come!

Sandcass - Unless it has changed since last Thanksgiving, there are no refillable mugs for any of the theme parks.

graygables - We usually to buy them on every trip as souveniers, and to a lesser extent to use since will tend to eat or have a snack in the food court at least 1x per day.

The last that I knew, the mugs were ~$12. If you use them ~5 times you break even.

PS. I am waiting on this thread to become another nasty debate over re-using mugs... :umbrella: :rolleyes1

The mug is a souvenir to me. The drinks are a nice added bonus.

Same here....I have been using my POR mug every day since I've gotten home just to be reminded of my wonderful vacation that went way to fast.

Ok - i will admit to being one of those who has used them on 2 trips at WL. But, i have heard of some people using a resort mug at a different resort - i wouldn't do that. Always get the mugs though - u don't need to drink much to get your money's worth - and i usually give them to neighbouring kids when we get home.
