What is your Member Type?

We just closed on a resale that was submitted for ROFR way before 3/20, passed a week before, and closed 3 weeks after. Now that I'm able to login to the DVC Member website, I'm curious about how they'll be differentiating the tiers of membership after 3/20. We should be grandfathered in, but I understand that resales even before 2011 were listed in the main system as "resales" - even though they received direct member benefits.

So - my question - when I go into My Membership, it says my type is "Additional Purchaser." What would it say if I were buying direct? What will it say for those buying resale after 3/20? Like many others, I'm on the lookout for irregularities to ensure that we are indeed grandfathered in.

'Additional Purchaser' means you are not the first person named on the deed. The first person named on the deed would be the 'Purchaser'.

I'm an 'Associate Member' because I'm not named on the deed, but I can make/modify reservations. DVC will not discuss any financial (loan & annual dues) information with me.

My DH is listed first, too, even though he barely knows what DVC is and has never had any contact with them.

I offered to set up his profile on the DVC Member site last night and he smiled, winked, and said "Why - I'll NEVER log in." He's sure gonna love DVC vacations - I assure you!

Quite Funny! I am listed as the Purchaser and DH is the additional purchaser, as I knew he would never want to be in charge of handling DVC. I actually went ahead and set up his account on line and he has never been on it!! I am not even sure if he remembers how many points we bought! That's okay though maybe he won't ask when it comes time to add on some more.

I'm the Associate. I set up hubby's account and I'm the ONLY one who has ever logged onto it. Didn't set up my own account at all. There's no point.

I am the purchaser probably because I'm the one that paid for all of our contracts. My DH is an additional purchaser, and my DD is an additional purchaser too. I also set up an account for my DH, but he doesn't have a clue. My DD has never set up her account, though all she has to do is call and get a new pin number to do it. Eventually, she'll have to do it. OP, all of my contracts were direct purchase.

Weird. My DH is listed fist on our direct purchase even though I listed myself first and he wasn't even able to make it to the sales presentation when I bought it, he was at home 30000 miles away working! On our resale contract I am listed first bc that's the way I listed it. Hmm me thinks Disney has some unrealistic ideas about which gender in most families makes financial decisons and plans vacations.
