I already posted this on Teen Disney, but I figured I'd post it here too.

Do you know it? Do you think it's an accurate description of you? Do you like to try to type people you meet and/or have your friends take the test? Do you know the types of most of your friends? Do you dislike anything about particular types?

There are 16 MBTI types. Each type is 4 letters, with 2 possibilities for each letter. For example:

I am an ENFP(The Inspirer). The exact opposite of me would be an ISTJ. And there's all the types in between! I think my type is extremely accurate of who I am.

Extroversion(E) or Introversion(I): How you focus your attention/get your energy.
Sensing(S) or iNtuition(N): How your take in information.
Thinking(T) or Feeling(F): How you prefer to make decisions.
Judgment(J) or Perception(P): How you orient yourself to the external world.

The Tests:

Are all yes/no questions. You only need to take one -- I recommend the first one listed.

Careful with this one! It'll give you a result such as "Reliable Realist" or such, with a short paragraph about you. This isn't what you want, you want the 4 letters. This one is more difficult to take but shorter and much more accurate. When you are finished with the test, you must scroll down and look at the 4 bars. If the mark is closer to Extroversion you are extraverted(E), closer to Introversion you are an introverted(I), and so on with each bar(Sensing(S) or iNtuition(N) etc). : http://www.41q.com/

This one is easier to take, but longer and less accurate: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

Interpreting The Results: You and Your Friend's Types

First, you'll want to google your type's portrait (if you're an ENFP, type "ENFP portrait" into google and you should click on the first couple results).

Share what you and your friend's types are and what you think of typing! I'll share more about my friends' types and my opinions on MBTI in a later post... this wall of text here is probably daunting.

tl;dr: Type yourself, type your friends. Also, typing is an awesome way to understand people and their differences/why they act the way they do.

ESFP the Performer

Marilyn Monroe- Elizabeth Taylor- Elvis

I think they were all drug addicts..... YIKES!

Hehe, one of my best friends is an ESFP, It's true that a lot of them tend to be party-people with somewhat addictive personalities, but my friend happens to be addicted to exercise (he bikes 10-25 miles a day), and I'd consider that to be a good thing. :goodvibes

I'm an ESFJ. It's been a few years so I don't remember what it says about me but it was pretty accurate!

Well, OP, it looks like I am the exact opposite of you (ISTJ), though sensing/intuitive and thinking/feeling are very close to the mid-point. I haven't read much yet, but I think it's probably pretty close.

I'm a Social Realist but 3 of the 4 bars are smack dab in the middle so I'm not sure what side I'm on :lmao:

I've got to say it is pretty accurate, I did, in fact, get my degree in one of the Social Sciences and only use my interest in academic type stuff to figure out how to best benefit others. OK, I don't see the 4 letters. Guess that's me being bored with the details. OH, I see it now, it took me a while. I am ENFP . I posted my husband's below. This was fun, thanks!

Your personality type: "Spontaneous Idealist"

Enthusiastic, idealistic and creative. Able to do almost anything that interests them. Great people skills. Need to live life in accordance with their inner values. Excited by new ideas, but bored with details. Open-minded and flexible, with a broad range of interests and abilities.

Careers that could fit you include:

Actors, journalists, writers, musicians, painters, consultants, psychologists, psychiatrists, entrepreneurs, teachers, counselors, politicans, diplomats, television reporters, marketers, scientists, sales representatives, artists, clergy, public relations, social scientists, social workers.:goodvibes

My DH is a Reliable Realist:

Serious and quiet, interested in security and peaceful living. Extremely thorough, responsible and dependable. Well-developed powers of concentration. Usually interested in supporting and promoting traditions and establishments. Well-organized and hard working, they work steadily towards identified goals. They can usually accomplish any task once they have set their mind to it.

I'm an ESFJ, a Social Realist. I like how my F is the only one that's all the way over lol

The Caregiver

As an ESFJ, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit in with your personal value system. Your secondary mode is internal, where you take things in via your five senses in a literal, concrete fashion.

ESFJs are people persons - they love people. They are warmly interested in others. They use their Sensing and Judging characteristics to gather specific, detailed information about others, and turn this information into supportive judgments. They want to like people, and have a special skill at bringing out the best in others. They are extremely good at reading others, and understanding their point of view. The ESFJ's strong desire to be liked and for everything to be pleasant makes them highly supportive of others. People like to be around ESFJs, because the ESFJ has a special gift of invariably making people feel good about themselves.

I'd say that's about right! :goodvibes

Yup, that is pretty much on the head! My boss is a big believer in these kinds of metrics. We have done a different one called the TTI twice in the last three years. It is always very interesting and fairly accurate.

I haven't taken either of the tests on the link, but I've taken the Meyers Briggs Personality Indicators several times at work. I always come up as an INTJ.

Shocking! :scared1:

I'm an ESTJ... no kidding!
I'm a Spontaneous idealist... amen! :thumbsup2

Wow... this is spot ON!

INTJ--The Scientist.

A bit odd for an English major who taught and worked as a small town Young Adult Librarian (best job in the world)--but I do see quite a bit that is my personality in the write up (but it is MUCH more like my daughter and Husband--I will have to get them to take the test too; I have a feeling my poor little boy is the one odd man out in a group of 2 VERY strong INTJs and one reasonably so:lmao:).

I'm an ISTJ. It's amazing how spot on it is. It says I'm a rule follower  My fiancé makes fun of me for how much I'm a stickler to rules. Apparently, if Eeyore was real, he'd be an ISTJ.

He's an INTJ, a "Mastermind."

You're part of only 1% of the population!

You're part of only 1% of the population!

I'm in the 1% minority as well - INTP. What makes it worse is that not only is INTP rare, but a female INTP is rarer still. No wonder I feel like I belong to a different species sometimes. :)

IIFJ, which, btw, is different than what I got a few years ago, but I believe I was more honest this time. It was almost in the middle of thinking and feeling, but it was closer to feeling.

It said:

Your personality type: "Harmony-seeking Idealist"

Quietly forceful, original and sensitive. Tend to stick to things until they are done. Extremely intuitive about people and concerned for their feelings. Well-developed value systems which they strictly adhere to. Well-respected for their perserverence in doing the right thing. Likely to be individualistic, rather than leading or following.

Careers that could fit you include:

Counselors, clergy, missionaries, teachers, medical doctors, dentists, chiropractors, psychologists, psychiatrists, writers, musicians, artists, psychics, photographers, child care workers, education consultants, librarians, marketeers, scientists, social workers.

Wait, where is the N coming from? The choice was sensing or intuitive on the test I took. duh, nevermind. I'm INFJ.

ESTJ

I only somewhat agree with my results
