What is your least favourite resort, and why?

Least Favorite:
Value: any All Star (because of their buses)
Mod: CSR Village (would consider the tower, but never again in the villages)
Deluxe: AKL (location)

Favorite:
Value: POP
Mod: ??
Deluxe: Y&B, BW (love the location)

Admittedly, I've not stayed in them all yet, but out of those I have, I would say Saratoga Springs Resort. It just didn't have anything to endear it to me. We visited in December so in the evening the pathway to/from Disney Springs was pitch black, so myself and my sister did not feel safe using it. Personal opinion, I know others love the place.

Totally agree! Kidani was not for me, I wanted to be in Jambo House
Funny, I barely think of them as separate anymore. Both sides of the resort have pros and cons, but since we have access to both, we take advantage of the pros! We prefer the rooms in Kidani (extra bathroom in the 1/2BR is outstanding), the food at Jambo, the pool at Jambo when adulting, the pool at Kidani when kids are along - love the place!

We spent 7 Christmas mornings at OKW, so it holds special memories for me. I know others often dismiss it because of its size, but we drive to the parks so it's not an issue. Love the pools too. Again, just my opinion.
We're with you. Holds special memories for us, too - it's the original and the place we went for years as our kids were growing up. We still feel like we're coming home when we drive in. Would recommend the resort, the rooms (so spacious with great views on large balconies), and the pools any day!

Gosh, I was going to book the AKL; however, based on the comments, I need to choose another resort! 😥

AS Sports. I just didn't like the vibes there. Kidani would also be near the bottom of my list. As mentioned, the hallways are insane. And for me, the food options weren't great. The pool was awesome though!

Great question- it’s fun to read what everyone likes and dislikes… And I’ve been surprised that my favorites are very much disliked… But that’s OK… To each their own… My least favorite resort was Coronado Springs… And I really think it had to do with the trip itself… It was a large family trip… I did not pick the resort… The family member who picked the resort wanted us near the gym… So we were not near any amenities… It also rained the entire trip… The rooms themselves were fine… oh, and this was in 2012… So they had a weird food court situation… We really didn’t spend much time eating at the resort… But I wasn’t impressed the few times we did… it also rained a lot that week… it seemed the buses filled up very quickly… And the only way to get on a bus and even have a chance at a seat was to go to the main bus stop… Which was another hike… And having long walks to bus stops and or pool and or dining really affected my view of the resort… However, other members of our party really enjoyed the pool… That was a big hit…

My personal faves… POFQ… Pop Century…

I couldn't disagree more. It's a spectacular resort - our favorite resort anywhere, not just at WDW. It does seem to be a place people either tend to love or hate. For us, we've been there dozens of times, and it's always the first place we look to return. The theming, the animals, the best dining options of any resort on property (our opinion, of course), 2 amazing pools, a very unique gift shop, fascinating international cast members....... I would highly recommend you try it and see for yourself.

I tend to avoid these 'least favorite' type of posts because you're already starting out with a negative expectation. I prefer the positives, so I'll give a resounding positive response here for AKL

To be fair, I'm glad we stayed there. We had a savannah view, and it was lovely. Getting to see the animals from the room or if no savannah view room, then the observation decks near the lobby of the resort.

I think it worth staying at least once. Having said that, my wife and I would go back and do a staycation or if wanting to hit mostly Animal Kingdom. Logistically it's also much easier if you have your own car.

As others have said, the minus are:

1 loooong walks as it's a big resort
2 getting from the lodge to anywhere else via Disney buses besides Animal Kingdom.

Never stayed but visited. Old Key West. Too far, too big. Feels like a very cute retirement condo association. If Im staying at a bus only place it's gonna be somewhere fun without an internal bus loop.
Edit to add: driving isnt something we would probably never do so that factors in

The all stars (we loved AoA). However, I will stay at them. What I usually do is stay a night or two there and 5/6 nights at Yacht Club. I plan it so we spend very little time at the resort if we are at the all stars. I don’t think I could ever stay a week. Maybe if it were just me and one other person, but not my family of four.

They are cheap (well by Disney standards), but rooms are small and loud. Fun theming though. Staying at Ducks in Movies is a great location to Music so we request that. But if you’re facing the pool it’s LOUD until the pool closes.

I would probably never stay at CBR again. I didn’t hate it. Our location wasn’t bad in Aruba. We were by the quiet pool and close to the bus stop. There was a refill station not far from our room. But the main area was far, and going through all the bus stops was time consuming and annoying at the end of the night.

Jambo house is our favorite resort! Our children are older now so the distance to parks isn’t a problem. There’s nothing like coffee on the balcony and watching the animals waking up for breakfast. Pool is amazing and breakfast at Boma can’t be beat.

AKL is my favorite resort, give it a try! I just love the vibe, and their 3 sit down restaurants are all wonderful, with Boma being my favorite. My only complaint is that I hate The Mara, have never had a decent meal there, though I will say I'm not big on QS restaurants to begin with.

I have never stayed at any of the values and really have no desire to. I dislike that over-the-top theming and the rooms seem in the smaller size. However, I’d likely stay at AoA when/if we have grandkids.

Least favorite mod was CSR. We literally had the farthest room from anything and were the last bus stop so pretty much all the buses were packed by the time they got to us (when they got to us—worst bus situation we’ve ever had).

As far as deluxe, non are really off the table. I will say I have no desire to stay at the poly anymore. The elevators are impossible in the GCH with a scooter. The lava pool looks absolutely chaotic and pools are really important. And we just moved from Hawaii where we had the “real” thing. Least likely to stay at Swolphin again unless we get a great rate—the room we had at Swan had absolutely nowhere to hang towels or wet things! And it was quite a hike to the big pool area.

But honestly, I’d stay anywhere if it meant another Disney trip (well, except off-site—worst trips were when we stayed off-site).
