What Is Your Halloween Tradition?

What is your 'Halloween tradition'? Do you have anything that you do the same year after year for a special reason?

we always take dd11 to grandma's house and she trick or treats in her neighborhood and then when she's had enough she passes out the candy for grandma. we have been doing this since she was about 3, she'll be 12 this year! we always decorate the house and from kindergarten till last year weve always had a BIG party for her and about 10-15 friends, a spooky walk, games, treats, crafts, a mad science lab in the basement, this year they are having something at school on the 28th and she'll go to that instead............ we always have dressed up with her our wedding anniversary is on Nov.1 so it's kinda a fun weekend for us

Well, we have always watched a Diseney Halloween, gone out trick-or-treating and when we come home the kids sorted their candy. This is the first year both boys don't want to go out (they are 13 & 16). They are split on what to do instead.One wants to go to Grandma's and pass out candy and the other wants to stay home and watch scary/but not too scary movies.I guess we'll see what happens, but we'll probably stay home.

It USED to be watching Rocky Horror Picture show and handing out candy.

but since we don't get trick or treaters here (main road, long driveway)...we go to the fire house (DH is a volunteer) and help out with "safe treats".

so I still get to see kids dressed up.

of course - this year we'll miss halloween...going to the bahamas. heheh

We live right next to an elementary school... so we get so many visitors from Halloween that we don't even bother shutting our door. I really love halloween!

Halloween is the day DH and I met, so we celebrate that every year.

And...every year my Aunt calls me and reminds me that I said I was going to marry him that very night and that it was our destiny to be together. She is right.

We always host a grownups pizza party (most of our friends don't have kids). We make the pizza from scratch with all kinds of toppings, and I usually have a big pot of chile & some appetizers.

We decorate the house with tons of candles (we keep the lights off). The only rule is everyone brings a bag of candy and helps to answer the door & hand it out.

This year, we will be in WDW for Halloween.
