I've only been to Lucky Nugget and Plaza Gardens. Lucky Nuggett always used to be ok but last time we went June 09 it was awful we won't be going back on our next trip. Plaza Gardens was pleasant enough but not enough atmosphere. We will be trying Inventions and Agrabah in October and have heard great things.

what was wrong with lucky nugget when you went?was it the food?

did you go to the character lunch? how was the food selection? were there many vegetarian or seafood options?

Yes we were there for lunch, the selection was:

Starters

Prawns
Salmon terine type thing
cold meats
various salad leaves ect
olives
breads
soup , croutons
boiled eggs

Mains
Cod in source
Spicy fish nuggets
chili
ribs
beef stroganoff
Spiced rice
chicken nuggets
Pots gratan
chips
roast pots
chicked fajitas
slivers of steak - wow

Lots of puds inc cakes, yogurts, fresh fruit, mouses, pies, cheese board ect

If you are a meat eater this place is best in our opinion.

Sorry I'm another who'll never go back to the Lucky Nugget. For the money the buffet at the Cheyenne is good value and good food. For a higher class selection particularly if you like seafood you can't beat Inventions but it's expensive. Just goes to show we're all different and - luckily - all like different things!

It's not on your list, but The Cheyenne buffet is our favourite :thumbsup2

Good value for money. Lots of choice, even for the kids (in our opinion) and we found the food to be hot (haven't found this to be the case in other buffets)

It has to be Inventions for me, I'm afraid I had a bad experience at The Lucky Nugget and will not return there again!!

Yes Inventions is expensive but I look upon it that I've worked hard all year and I deserve a treat on holiday, I would never pay that for a meal in this country but Disney is just so magical:wizard: I love the food there and the Character Interaction has always been brilliant.:)

My vote isn't very well informed as we only ate in Cape Cod and Inventions on our last trip, and breakfast at Plaza Gardens.

Inventions was good if you like seafood, which we all do! The character interaction was fab, even when DD was asleep!!:rotfl:

we've only eaten at plaza gardens and rendevous de stars. my vote goes to rendevous, we didnt get to eat there on our second trip, but it will def be on our list in october!
:cheer2::cheer2:

I voted des Stars as that's the only one we have been to ! :rotfl:
but we did enjoy it,the food was great and liked the decor / theming, not OTT !

Which is the cheapest buffet ?

x

I've eaten at loads of the buffets, and Restaurant des Stars is my favourite :). Its among the cheapest too, but the food is excellent. I know I'm in the minority, but I love the theming too - understated, cool and calming.

I voted Inventions, apart from the Lucky Nugget its the best buffet i've been too.

I have eaten there 3 times and never had a bad experience, looking forward to eating there again in October.

thats why i want to eat there lol. it looks clean and bright and airy

We went to the resturant in Santa fe for Christmas eve, it was great the only thing was we left our camera in the room and did not realise that there would be characters there, so missed out on mickey, minnie, goofy and some mexican guys.

To me the food was great and it was enjoyable for me to try different foods

Thing is the buffets mentioned are in different price bands, I would expect Inventions to be better than say restaurant des stars as it is 4 times the price, similarly people have different experiences, we've had 3 fabulous and 1 not so good experience at the Lucky Nugget. During the visit with the bad LN experience we also visited Restaurant de stars, half the price, twice as good so we went back a 2nd time and we went to Agrabah Cafe which put me off buffets altogether - we didn't do any buffets this year, although we would've considered Inventions or the Steakhouse brunch had they been available.
But in the past we've had lovely food at Plaza Gardens and I don't remember having any complaints at Santa Fe. :)
