I was reading the receipe section and it seemed like all the receipes involved a crock pot or a microwave. I am going to try grilling for the first time ( I LOVE grilled food) while at FW. I am sure many of you are to be reckoned with when you have a grill and a spatula. ::yes:: Please share your best grilling recipes. :stir: :thanks:

God...I hate to say this...but if you want to do a GOOD grilling..bring a small bbq grill from home..the grils at the fort are fine for hot dogs or stuff that basicly just needs heating...but if you're gonna marinade a nice cut of beef and grill it at the fort...the actual grills(the iron that the meat sits on above the fire) at the fort are just too big, or too thick. Im sure they will work, but a good T-Bone, or NYStrip, or well marbled RibEye deserves a good kiss from the flames...and disney grills dont really allow much flame kissing because they are so wide.

You've never grilled before?? Really??? No backyard BBQing??? This is only my opinion...and it aint worth much..but DONT WASTE MEAT....if you dont marinade a slab of beef in SOMETHING, you're not pushing your steak to be all that it can be.

Alot of folks are going to disagree with me on this...using the "I like the flavor of meat, and a big glass of meat juice to wash it down with!!" To each his/her own...but I also love the flavor of beef...and I think that flavor is even better when enhanced with a good marinade.

This is my favorite store bought marinade...Im not sure if its available all over the country....but this stuff ROCKS!! give it a good 24hr soak before throwing on the grill.

If this brand isnt available in your area....heres a pretty good recipe for a nice marinade:
1 quart Water
1 ounce Pepper sauce
1 teaspoon Garlic powder
1½ ounce Onion juice
½ cup Salt
3 ounces Worcestershire sauce
2 ounces Garlic juice
1 teaspoon Meat tenderizer

If it walked on all fours when it was alive, I will grill it. If it walked on two legs and was covered with feathers when it was alive, I will grill it. If it was ground up and stuffed into a casing, I will grill it.

No, I have never grilled before. I have always been afraid of setting myself or something or someone else on fire.....Never knew how with the lighter fluid thing. BUT a friend of mine told me to use match light until I get the hang of it so I feel I can try to conquer this now. :thumbsup2
The marinade you suggested is making my mouth water already. Thank you for the suggestion!

:lmao: :rotfl2: That is funny and I love pretty much all meat also.

I usually end up grilling my wife on how much spent at World of Disney! LOL

My DH uses that brand to inject in fried turkeys. We've never used it for marinade. I'll have to mention that to him.

I grill pretty much anything thats meat and veggies.
One of my favorites to grill is oysters.:thumbsup2

I love fried turkey!!!

I rarely use the actual injector ("ginormous" hypodermic needle) unless I dont have a whole day to let the meat marinade, for some reason...when I try to inject...it spurts all over the place. I get mad. Start yelling and staining my clothes up and by the time its over, I feel like Ive been violated by some sexual predator.:sad2:

When I do charcoal, I use one of those chimney fire starters. A couple pieces of newspaper, a match, and the coals are ready in 5-10 minutes.

We like to marinade chicken breasts in Italian dressing overnight then grill it. For the best country style ribs, try this:

Everything to put in a big 'ol pot:

country ribs
2 bottles of your favorite BBQ sauce
1 bottle of beer (or wine cooler)
2 onions peeled and quartered
enough water to cover the ribs

Boil for 30 minutes remove ribs and put in a covered dish. Cook down the liquid left in the pot until it is back to BBQ sauce consistancy. Put some over your ribs to marinade until you are ready to put on the grill for 15-20 minutes and save the rest to baste and dip.

The sauce is wicked, do not taste it-do not let anyone taste it until you are ready to eat it with your ribs or there will be none left. I caught Little Miss Picky Pants who never eats anything, eating the sauce with a spoon when I left the kitchen!

Instead of grilling-you can also bake the ribs at 350 for 20 minutes or you can boil them an extra 30 minutes before cooking down your sauce. Yep, it's a bit of work but FANTASTIC!

Good ribs ARE a bit of work....ya dont use liquid smoke? tch tch tch.....ya should give THAT a try....I think it would go perfect right into the recipe you have there!

ooohhhh, I didn't think of that! We have a bottle in the cabinet and 4 packs of Country Ribs in the freezer...I love it when Winn-Dixie has BOGO meat, I stock up. Guess what we'll be having when we get home!?

Maybe I should stick myself on the grill--would be much warmer. I wish we had stopped by Mexico and got some more of those Kahlua and Tequila candies...I wouldn't be so cold right now ~grin~

tequila and kahlua....the OTHER liqiuid smoke...(not everyone will get this)
