What is your favorite sunscreen?

I always use the Target Up brand for all of us.

I am the OP, and we just got back from our trip. I tried some different sunscreens during our trip. My favorites for me were a Biore sunscreen (it is a Japanese product) that I used on my face (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LRO7DO/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and a new product from Banana Boat called Protect & Hydrate 2 in 1 Sunscreen Lotion that I used for the rest of me (http://www.amazon.com/Banana-Boat-P...=8-1&keywords=banana+boat+protect+and+hydrate). The Biore sunscreen absorbed very easily and was perfect for my face. The new Banana Boat one rubbed in very easily and is seriously the best sunscreen I've ever used in terms of not even noticing that I had it on for the rest of the day (all the others I've ever tried, I always feel greasy for the rest of the day, even if they say non-greasy on the package).

For the kids, we used a Walgreens sunscreen stick on their faces and used the new Banana Boat lotion on their bodies. The stick format for their faces was great, but I might try a different brand next time (DS5 got a little red under his eyes).

We use the EWG guide to find a reliable chemical free sunscreen.

Highly recommend ewg.com for helping choose a sunscreen. There's a lot of stuff out there that says "kids" or otherwise makes it sound good for children, but it's actually not. I forget what we chose after reading up on it, but I'll post later if I remember after unpacking.

Another EWG fan here. Very happy to have their help on the safety of ingredients for all kinds of things, but especially sunscreen as we use it every day.

I started making our own sunscreen because the prices of the good stuff for kids (California baby, badger, those types) were killing us. It's seriously easy to do and economical. I use the recipe from wellnessmama.com. We do not use any of the sprays at all on our boys, ever.

I use Coppertone Kids or Water Babies. Used to get the Pure & Simple, now it looks like they call it just Tear Free. I tried Badger and I didn't like it, it goes on like cement. The other "good" ones I just can't afford. This kind gets a 3 on EWG and I'm happy with that.

I've used Badger and been pretty happy. My daughter is a very fair redhead and even with a lot of sun she hasn't burned. It is so thick that you only need to use a little bit and our tube lasted all summer with lots of trips to the pool. I got a new face stick this year I am really liking called Elemental Herbs. It isn't greasy and absorbs well. I've also made my own using a recipe off Wellness Mama which is pretty simple.

I like both Blue Lizard and Ava Anderson sunscreens. I am very particular about the products I use on my daughter, and both of these hold up to my standards. Blue Lizard is pretty thick, but I like that you are able to determine appropriate coverage because of that. Ava Anderson has one of the only bug sprays I will use, so if you are interested in bug spray the Ava Anderson line is worth a look.
