What is your favorite spa treatment while on a Disney cruise and why? Is there any that stand out more than the others you have tried? Is there any treatments that you found exceptional?

I love a massage. Facials are ok, like them, but not as relaxing as a massage. I didn't find the manicure or pedicure to be worth their price tag.

I agree the mani/pedi were overrated and facial was okay. I always get a Swedish massage, but would like to try something new.

How much are massages usually?

I booked a 75 minute Thai Poultice massage, the price is $195 + an automatic 18% gratuity. I'm pretty excited - it's expensive, but I can't find Thai Poultice massages in my town, plus there's the added novelty of being on a ~cruise~.

It's definitely more than you'd pay for a massage in your hometown. Probably about double, even more, in all honesty. For example, a 75 minute bamboo massage on a Disney cruise is $179 + 18% gratuity. I got a 75 minute bamboo massage for $80 a few months ago at a local spa.

The spa menu with all of the prices is available on DCL's website.

Thank you so much. I figured but it's going to be a treat to myself!

The Thai Poultice massage sounds fantastic! I think I'm up for trying something new this trip!:thumbsup2

Agreed! I looked up the massage on Youtube to see what it entailed, and started feeling relaxed just watching it being done - looks heavenly. :cloud9:

It looks like we will actually be on the same ship for the exact same cruise - Just a little over 3 weeks of waiting left! pixiedust:

Thanks for the link, I've been wondering about the prices.

How cool that we will be on the same cruise! :thumbsup2 Thank you for the tip! :goodvibes I will have to look it up on You Tube as well. I'm having system errors trying to book the massage, so I think I'll have to try again in the morning. There aren't many time slots left. :sad2:

I've had a Swedish massage (which I upgraded to hot stones for just $15 more..and so worth it!) -- I just didn't like the hard sell of additional products they give post-massage when you're all relaxed & loopy (probably why they do it then haha)

I've also had a scalp massage/treatment. It was very relaxing (done in the salon) but my head smelled like a pine tree forest the rest of the days because of the oils (which was suiting for the Alaskan cruise i was on (prolly not as relaxing in the Caribbean or Bahamas)

The rainforest room on the dream was by far my favorite so far, but I'm thinking about doing a foot treatment of some kind--maybe a pedi with no polish? ...I've never had a mani or pedi and am wondering why people don't seem to like it?

I really love manicures and pedicures but on the Disney cruise it's extremely expensive and I don't feel the service or feel of it is any different than going to my local nail salon. I highly recommend you getting a pedicure if you've never had one though! :)

I liked the bamboo massage. However, I really wanted to do the Thai poultice, but it was all booked up when my window opened. I like to get a mani/pedi at home. I go to a day spa, where they massage your arms and legs. It helps to relax with all of the stress of getting ready for vacation. Plus, I feel like I'm wasting vacation and imposing on my DH if I'm spending too much time in the spa. So one good long massage works for me.

Since I booked the cruise last minute most of the time slots are booked. :( I usually book the specials on board.

I loved the hot stone massage the best. "Alone time" was excellent--especially the last 30 min. as I sat on the big lounge, watching Alaska go by, eating kiwi, pineapple, and melon kebabs and drinking tea. There was also a special in the Navigator--3 services of your choice--foot massage, face massage, and hot stone back massage. Wonderful.

We did a couples' Ultimate Indulgence last week. Over 2 hours of bliss.

I can't get DH to want to do this? :( It is booked up for my cruise now, but what does this entail? Is there a schedule they give you and you just fill in the time slots with the services you want?

Do you recall how much the "Alone time" cost? I don't see it as one of the online booking choices. This might be something I will consider booking once I get on board? I can't find a description anywhere?

There used to be a foot and ankle massage on the spa menu (no longer there) but I still go in every cruise and ask for one and they accommodate It is the most AWESOME thing ever, especially if you have had an excursion with a lot of walking (or spent time at WDW prior to your cruise). They sometimes will also add reflexology. Just an awesome experience.

I also am someone that gets manicures and pedicures regularly at home and BOTH are less expensive and nicer than the ones I have gotten on the ships. I don't try anymore.

I just love sitting in the steam room in the locker rooms. Quiet time and FREE! :goodvibes
