What is your favorite spa treatment while on a Disney cruise and why? Is there any that stand out more than the others you have tried? Is there any treatments that you found exceptional?
How much are massages usually?
I booked a 75 minute Thai Poultice massage, the price is $195 + an automatic 18% gratuity. I'm pretty excited - it's expensive, but I can't find Thai Poultice massages in my town, plus there's the added novelty of being on a ~cruise~. It's definitely more than you'd pay for a massage in your hometown. Probably about double, even more, in all honesty. For example, a 75 minute bamboo massage on a Disney cruise is $179 + 18% gratuity. I got a 75 minute bamboo massage for $80 a few months ago at a local spa. The spa menu with all of the prices is available on DCL's website. http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/fantasy/fitness-spa/senses-spa-salon/spa-treatments/

The Thai Poultice massage sounds fantastic! I think I'm up for trying something new this trip!![]()

Agreed! I looked up the massage on Youtube to see what it entailed, and started feeling relaxed just watching it being done - looks heavenly.
It looks like we will actually be on the same ship for the exact same cruise - Just a little over 3 weeks of waiting left!![]()
We did a couples' Ultimate Indulgence last week. Over 2 hours of bliss.
I loved the hot stone massage the best. "Alone time" was excellent--especially the last 30 min. as I sat on the big lounge, watching Alaska go by, eating kiwi, pineapple, and melon kebabs and drinking tea. There was also a special in the Navigator--3 services of your choice--foot massage, face massage, and hot stone back massage. Wonderful.
I've had a Swedish massage (which I upgraded to hot stones for just $15 more..and so worth it!) -- I just didn't like the hard sell of additional products they give post-massage when you're all relaxed & loopy (probably why they do it then haha)
I've also had a scalp massage/treatment. It was very relaxing (done in the salon) but my head smelled like a pine tree forest the rest of the days because of the oils (which was suiting for the Alaskan cruise i was on (prolly not as relaxing in the Caribbean or Bahamas)
The rainforest room on the dream was by far my favorite so far, but I'm thinking about doing a foot treatment of some kind--maybe a pedi with no polish? ...I've never had a mani or pedi and am wondering why people don't seem to like it?
