I know I've seen this kind of thread before, but its been a long while, so I figured I'd make one.

What is everyone's favorite ride at Disneyland's MK? Why is it your favorite? What makes it special to you? Why is it better than all the other rides?

These kind's of disscussions can become very interesting you know. :thumbsup2

Star Tours at DL, and Soarin' AND Grizzly River Rapids at DCA.

I was on a coaster kick, but in either Sept or Dec I went on Space Mountain first thing. I was put in the front seat, and was scared to pieces the whole time. I irrationally kept thinking morbid thoughts (what if a beam had fallen up ahead) and HATED the whole ride. :(

Then at the end of that trip (it must have been in September that I got so scared) I went on Star Tours, and I had never been on it before. I loved it SO much! The feeling of a coaster, but just a simulator. Best of both worlds.

Soarin' I like b/c of the simulator thing, too. I know I'll never hang glide or even go in a helicopter, so this is a nice way to see those things with no danger.

Grizzly I just love for no apparent reason. And I love watching people get soaked by the geyser at the end, and spent about 40 minutes watching just that yesterday. :rotfl:

It' become a tradition with us that the first ride we go on after arriving is either Pirates or Haunted Mansion. Either one of them is easily our favorite. :lovestruc

YES! I have spent countless hours doing that same thing! :lmao:

I voted for Splash.. I love that ride. I love the animatronics and how cuddly the song is and then.. BOOM! You're down this scary flume.. :scared1:

It was hard for me to pick just one though..

At DCA.. I would have to say either Soarin' and ToT..

Well for me, I think its obvious, that the Indiana Jones ride is my favorite. :rotfl: IMO it has one of, if not the, best waiting areas. You start in the jungle (Like Indy). Then you make your way into a hidden temple (Like Indy). Then finally on to the BIG adventure (Like Indy). It's all just a fantastic combination. Something I believe only Disney could do right. (God forbid, if Goerge Lucas had given Paramount the rights to do the ride, we would've ended up with some silly roller coaster.)

Anyway, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain are probably my closest second & third.

Space Mountain is my all-time favorite DL ride! I just love the rush of flying through the dark!

Well my all time favorite ride at DLR was Monsanto's Jounry into inner space... Next favorite was the Skyway... sigh

Pirates is wicked good and I was going to vote for that, but then someone brought up Indy...

Matterhorn rocks..

Then again Storybook land Canal boats is a quiet treasure....

Small world..

UGH

Too many favorites to vote

I love Indy, too. I like the way I ride it as well. Everyone else just holds on for dear life. I just sit up and move with the car, sort of like riding a horse in the non-structured way. My brother and SIL hold on for dear life, and despite being a bit younger and trimmer/fitter than I, end up in pain. I come off of the ride feeling better than before!

I do like the queue, but, and this is NOTHING to complain about, I'm always in the line for too short a time. I've never been stuck in it for an hour; never spent time in the outside of the building with all those switchbacks. And I've started letting people pass me if they are hurrying, b/c I just want to slow down and see things.

for me - splash but the last time i went on splash mountail was in 1991 - i didn't go on it on my 1998 trip!

As is Casey Jr! I went on that for the first time, and it was great! It goes surprisingly fast for what seems to be a kiddie ride sort of thing. And you get really pretty views!

It was hard to choose because I love the Haunted Mansion & Pirates of the Caribbean as well as Indy but I voted for Splash because I just have so much fun on that ride. And going on it with my kids is just the best time ever. They love it!

I think Matterhorn is a good one too. If you look at the right times, I think you can useually get a pretty good view of the park.

That was easy for me. I had to vote for Pirates! There's too many reasons why, so I won't bore you with them, but I have to say that for an original Walt Disney attraction, it still blows me away everytime I experience it. It's timeless!!!

hehe sorry to be OT but Disney Mom I just noticed your GCV pic and the -actual size- comment :lmao: I gotta get me some of dem dare points!

My favorites are Peter Pan and **gasp** It's a Small World...

NO LAUGHING ALLOWED!! My family humors me and generally allows me one ride each trip. I just love the simplicity of them. They make me smile and feel happy.

Nothing bad about that. Only bummer of my trip was that IASW isn't open and won't be open for ages. And Peter Pan is so cool, the way you're suspended. I'd love to see a Monsters Inc ride done that way like when they are "riding" the door tracks, instead of on the ground as it is (and I'm sure will remain).

Indiana Jones for me. Love the combination of thrills and scenery and amazingly themed que line.
