What is your favorite resort for their concierge level?

One nice thing about the AKL concierge is the chance to do the Safaris. We have done the Sunrise and felt it was well worth it.

I thought that I had read somewhere that you could do the AKL safaris even if you weren't staying at the AKL. I thought as long as you were staying concierge level there was a safari that you could do. Does anyone know the info about this? Is there an age limit? I have two DD's 12 and 7.

there might be an age limit - you should check on this...
we did the sunrise safari and it was wonderful!!!!....all four of us very much enjoyed it....it's quite long so maybe your 7 year old wouldn't be able to take it...for that matter, there really might be an age limit, because i don't recall any little kids on it....but maybe someone else on this board remembers..

as far as other concierges being able to go on it...not that i know of...you have to be at the AKL concierge to go on the sunrise safari (in fact, that's the reason we went to the AKL that year....just to do that safari...and it was worth it)..

as for the YC....i didn't say it very well....since you have non-resort people at all the resorts to an extent....what i really mean is, when you're at the WL, you have this feeling of being somewhere else....completely secluded....when you make the turn onto the road for the hotel it's as if you're suddenly in this private world.....actually the AKL has the same feeling to it....
the GF has the same feeling to an extent, though not nearly as much as the WL and AKL.......and for that matter the poly has it too.....
however, the YC/BC/BWI all feel like they're in the middle of the action...now for some people that's what they want...and that's actually the feeling these resorts are going for....the feeling of being at a vacation resort that's in the middle of the boardwalk or whatever...
i'm not doing a good job of explaining it....but it's certainly a feeling that i'm sure many people are lookng for....but i prefer that secluded feeling.....

I've stayed concierge at the Poly, AKL, BC, and WL. Poly is my favorite lounge because of its location and views. My favorite CMs are at AKL. For adults alone I prefer the AKL and with little ones I prefer the Poly.

Out of YC/BC, which one do you prefer?

If the GF appeals to you, then I think that you would probably prefer the YC. Both are very similar though and it really just comes down to what theme you like the most.

As to the safaris, you do have to be a guest of the AKL concierge level to do their special sunrise or sunset safari. There is a Wildlife Excursion that's offered to all concierge guests. The differences are that the Excursion is done during regular park hours, while the sunrise is done before and the sunset is actually done at the lodge. The Excursion includes a ride through the safari in a specially equipped vehicle, with air conditioning, a naturalist on board and more opportunity for picture taking. The sunrise safari is similar, but it does last longer, you have the safari to yourselves and it's followed by a buffet breakfast at Tusker House. The sunset safari is followed by dinner at Jiko's and is aimed more towards adults. When it was introduced, the Excursion did have an age limit of 12 I think, but that was dropped.
