trying to come up with something different for us this summer, trouble is we have been most everywhere in New England.
but there has to be somewhere we haven't been!
but tell me which are your fav beach towns in New England?

Rockport Ma is a beautiful little beach town. There are tons along the coast. York Me. is also nice it is sort of old fashioned beachy. Boothbay harbor is also nice with lots of little stores to poke around in. Newport RI is also nice there you have the mansions, the stores and lots of ambiance. It does not have a real beachy feel but nice just the same.

The Lower Cape towns (Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Ptown):thumbsup2 If you decide to head this way, PM me and I'll give you tons of information. I was born and raised here and I've gots lots of insider advice that I like to share.

I also like the ME coastline (Qgunquit, York Beach, Wells) but have only visited there twice. It is much more expensive and crowded but fun.

I LOVE to get a lobster roll!

I can't speak for Rockport, MA (but now I want ot check it out) But I totally agree with your other recommendations. We just went to Newport to watch my daughter play college lacrosse this spring and it was beautiful. We would love to go back when we have more time to spend. It is totally different from York and Boothbay Harbor. So many beautiful places to visit, I feel like the list could be endless.

We also love Newport but I don't consider it a beach town and prefer it in the spring and fall. DD loves going through the mansions:)

I was going to say Rockport too. We stayed there for 2 weeks every summer when i was a kid and I loved it. Still do! Then there is always Plymouth, MA. You have the Mayflower and the Plimouth Plantation, dinner boat cruises, whale watch or pirate cruises, the rock of course and tons of beaches. Also, it is close to the cape so you could visit there too.

I love anything on the Maine Coast.......Bar Harbor, Boothbay Harbor, OOB, Kennebunkport.....love it love it

Block Island, Rhode Island.

Gorgeous place with beautiful beaches and kind of flies under the radar.

I'll second Newport, RI. Not a typical beach town, but lots to see and do (mansions, restaurants, shopping etc). And I am a bit biased b/c I was born there!!
karenos;)

we love Rockport too, and York Beach! Never been to Boothbay, so that is something to consider
love Newport, spent lots of time there when hubby was stationed in RI

Ogunquit ME. I love the beach and I LOVE to get a lobster roll!
Ogunquit is our go to spot, we love it, its really our favorite. that whole stretch york, ogunquit, wells.

We have been thru Kennebunkport, but never went to any beaches there, so that is another possibility:thumbsup2
also Bar Harbor, have not been there, my in laws are going there next month

Block Island, Rhode Island.

Block Island is beautiful, we have not been there in 20 years. omg that sounds so long, but its true, we biked the island when we went.
it is nice.
that is another one to consider since we have not been in soooo long

Lots of great ideas!! thanks!
pats girl I am going to Pm you, we have been to the cape many many times, but its always good to get insider tips :)

I grew up on the Cape and live in Newport now. If you want beach towns on the cape head up the National Seashore.

As for Newport, the beaches are covered in red tide right now so it is not really the best time to be coming to the beaches but otherwise it has all the other feels of a beach town plus the historic aspects as well.

A born-and-bred New Englander, I'm partial to my nice RI beaches.

We usually go to the beaches down in Quonsett/Naragansett (Scarborough, etc). The smaller beaches in Newport are nice, too, but I prefer the other ones.

Naragansett RI is my favorite. I grew up there.

There is a great beach there for little kids....Sand Hill Cove or Wheeler Beach. They changed the name. There is almost no waves so the little ones can play without being knocked down.

If you want a Jersey Shore type beach go to Scarborough, that place is a riot. It's seen and be scene there!

We used to have a naked beach but that is gone now.
