Hi all! We just returned from our land/sea vacation last night, and now I'm trying to plan our next one! This was our 1st cruise and we really enjoyed it. My 2yo dd had a blast!

Can you give me any hints/suggestions as to your favorite times of the year to cruise? I would greatly appreciate it!!! ::yes::

Every month is a good month, I'd like to try them all so I could decide which is best.
We have cruised 3 times in April and 1 late March that ran into April.

How did your 2 y/o do? Did she nap well? Did you put her down in the room or just let her fall asleep in a stroller wherever she was? My DD's 3 and 4 are close to outgrowing their naps but I think they will need naps on our trip with all the excitement and activity. Wondering what other people have done with their nappers.

It is really weather dependent. We have been booked for January, Feb, Mar, Apr., July, Sept., and Oct. cruises....several September and Jan/Feb.

The only one that really wasn't too nice was July. It was 106 degrees at the port the day we left. We couldn't use our balcony as it was too hot to touch. It was not comfortable outside at any point on that trip.

The hurricane season cruises we've done were all WONDERFUL! I'm flexible enough that I really don't care which ports we go to as long as we hit Castaway. We went to places not normally on the Disney schedule on several trips, but the Disney staff hustles and arranges great shore excursions...we always had a good time.

We had one February cruise that was too cold to swim. However, other Feb. cruises have been great, so I think that one was a fluke. It was a great cruise anyhow...just too cold to swim at Castaway or anywhere else. We rode bikes, etc.

My favorite time is probably Sept/Oct....but there's no bad time if you have a little flexibility and a good attitude.

October.
we have done all our cruises and several trips in October and always had good weather. One was a mystery cruise but that was half the fun of it.

married2grumpy...hey, wait! i thought I was married 2 grumpy!!! ;) they must be twins! ok, back to work now...i loved cruising after thanksgiving! the decorations were fabulous, and it wasn't too warm or cold! however, it was a little chillier than i had expected. it was quite cool swimming/snorkeling at casaway cay! but, we still had a blast.

If I could talk my dh into it, I would want to cruise at the same time. However, he won't be willing to do land/sea again, and I can in NO way bypass the parks! So, he can fly back by his lonesome if he's interested, or tough it out with us at the parks, and take a longer vacation! (he just don't know this yet... :teeth: )

plutojudy...we usually go to WDW in April/May. How's the weather during this time? My dh can't stand to be too hot.

mickeyboat... my dd did GREAT! She is very used to going with the flow. We were really fortunate, and she napped during lunch at CC - then to Flounders, and after swimming at the Mickey Pool, so we took her to the room to sleep, while we got ready for the show. When we were walking around Nassau, she fell asleep in her stroller! We really didn't focus on 'normal' nap times. She even fell asleep in Disney Dreams! If they are tired, they will sleep! I would recommend "borrowing" the DCL strollers for them to relax in. If they have to walk all the time, they will definitely be pooped.

kcashner... I can't even imagine cruising in July, my dh would kill me! What is the hurricane season? I think this would probably be my 2nd choice, during the fall season. We are definitely flexible, but I'm the only one with the positive attitude...(see comment about married2grumpy... )

Thanks for the responses! Maybe I can get something together to propose to my dh for his vacation schedule!

One more question... do you use a TA to book, or prefer to work directly through DCL? Thanks again! :wave2:
