What is your favorite "Go To" dish to take to holiday parties?

I have 2 things that are old standbys for holiday parties, but I would love to get some new ideas. Post your favorite dishes to share at parties!

Spinach Artichoke Dip

2 boxes of frozen chopped spinach
2 cans artichoke hearts
5 ounces shredded parmesan cheese
2 boxes of cream cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Thaw the spinach and gently boil it in 3 cups of water for 8 minutes. Chop the artichoke hearts and add them to the spinach. Boil another 2 minutes.

Place the cream cheese in a large bowl and microwave on high for 90 seconds.

In a separate small bowl, add the parmesan cheese and all of the spices.

Once the spinach and artichokes are done, drain well (squeeze slightly) and mix into the bowl with the cream cheese. All the parmesan cheese and spices and stir well.

Serve warm with tortilla chips or Melba toast. This dish reheats very well.

9 Layer Dip

2 cans refried beans
2 packages of taco seasoning
2 packages of refrigerated guacamole
16 ounces of sour cream (stir well)
4 cups shredded lettuce
2 small cans of chopped green chilies
2 small cans of chopped black olives
1 cup diced onion
2 cups diced tomatoes (drain well)
4 cups shredded Colby jack cheese

Mix the refried beans and taco seasoning together and spread on a large platter.

Layer the remaining ingredients in the order listed. I like to cover the guacamole completely with the sour cream so the edges to not turn brown.

Serve cold with tortilla chips.

Another super quickie is a tray of apple slices with carmel dip. I slice the apples at the last minute and immediately place them in a cold water bath with a generous dash of lemon juice. They stay nice for several hours! Edit to add that I drain the apples before serving...heh.

Mine is Cashew Sweet Potato Casserole

Two large cans of Sweet Potatoes - mash them in a large casserole dish.

Combine 1/2 cup crushed cashews, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup flour and sprinkle over the potatoes.

Dot the top with pats of butter - use 1 stick.

Microwave for 12 mintues and serve.

Easy, quick to warm up and really yummy!

Mac and Cheese with Corn! I never leave with any left, it's always gobbled right down. You can cook in 9X13 pan, but we usually use the crockpot that way it stays warm for the party or get together.

2 cans cream style corn
2 cans regular corn
1 stick butter
1 lb cooked macaroni
1 lb Velveeta

Cook macaroni. Spray 9x13 pan or crock pot with cooking spray. Drain most the juice from regular corn. Put all ingredients in pan or crock pot stir. If you are baking it heat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 45 min to 1 hour. If your putting it in crock pot just turn it on high til the cheese melts and then turn to low or warm.

This year I will be taking Tastefully Simple's Key Lime Cheeseball with their Twisty Grahams to spread it on. This stuff is delicious!!!!!

I also have a great cheese dip recipe that people are always scraping the bottom of the bowl over.

Buffalo Chicken dip always gets RAVE reviews if I am taking an appetizer.

My squash casserole dish gets practically licked clean, and there is NEVER any leftover nutty buddy pie either. Those are definitly my old stand by's.

Cheese Dip

2 cups shredded Colby Jack
1 cup mayo
1 8 oz block cream cheese
I medium onion chopped up

Mix all these together. Put in microwave safe dish. I always use my Longaberger star dish. So pretty at Christmas. Microwave for 5-7 minutes. (Sorry not sure of the exact time, I just keep an eye on it, everything melted)

Take out and cover with about 10-15 crushed Ritz, Townhouse, Club crackers. I use whatever I have on hand or on sale. Then sprinkle several tablespoons of bacon bits on top. Microwave a few more minutes. Done!!!

Usually I bring chicken macaroni salad. I am bringing dessert this time. German chocolate pies and cookie dough truffles:cloud9:

Mmm, will you post your buffalo chicken dip and nutty buddy pie recipes please? They sound so good!

I ALWAYS bring a vegetable platter with dip. I always bring home an empty platter, so someone at each event must like it.

Ingredients
7 Large bulbs of garlic *
1½ Tbsp Olive Oil *
1½ Pounds softened cream cheese
½ Pound Feta Cheese
3 Tbsp Chopped Fresh Oregano leaves
1 Pound sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil (1½ cups)
1 cup toasted walnuts

* May substitute two small jars of roasted garlic in oil; drain the oil.

Preparation of Ingredients
1. Cut off about the top quarter of each of the garlic bulbs. Sit them on a large sheet of aluminum foil. Drizzle about ½ tsp of olive oil on each. Completely enclose them in the foil and roast in a 450 degree oven for about 45 minutes.

2. Crumble the Feta Cheese.

3. Drain the oil from the tomatoes and chop in a food processor. (Note - these are normally found in the produce section in a grocery store.)

4. Chop the walnuts.

Putting it Together
1. After the garlic has cooled, squeeze out the pulp from each clove into a large bowl. Avoid getting any of the skin in the bowl.

2. Add the cream cheese, blending well. Then blend in the feta cheese.

3. Then stir in the oregano, tomatoes, and walnuts.

4. Refrigerate for at least two hours to one day, covered, before serving.

Buffalo Chicken dip recipe:

2 (10 ounce) cans chunk chicken, drained
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup Ranch dressing
3/4 cup pepper sauce (such as Frank's Red Hot®)
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions
1.Heat chicken and hot sauce in a skillet over medium heat, until heated through. Stir in cream cheese and ranch dressing. Cook, stirring until well blended and warm. Mix in half of the shredded cheese, and transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top, cover, and cook on Low setting until hot and bubbly.

I serve it with celery sticks and tortilla chips

Cocktail meatballs

Make small, cocktail size meatballs (or buy the frozen swedish meatballs in a bag) and for every pound, combine 12 ounces chili sauce and 10 ounces of grape jelly. I cook them in the crock pot and just take the pot with me (mine comes out) to keep them warm.

Thanks for posting your recipes, Angelhalo.

May I ask for one more? That squash casserole sounds interesting.
