What is your FAVORITE DVC Resort?

My top 3:

1) AKV--best theme, love the pool(s), value and standard point offerings a plus to us. Why it's 1st for us--makes us feel like a 1000 miles from anything.

2) BLT--WOW!!! Great design, best for convenience, great views. Why it's not 1st for us--lack of personal feel, understated pool area.

3) SSR--laid back feel, theme and quiet pools, very relaxing atmosphere. Why it's not 1st for us--very spread out, food options not thrilling, some room locations make amenities less than convenient.

Have also stayed at VLW, staying at OKW in next 2 weeks.

We're still working our way around to all the resorts. So far...

1) AKV (Kidani)...love the convenient parking underneath and the relaxing feeling of the resort. I could sit and watch the animals all day!

2) BWV...love the convenience of the boat to Epcot and DHS. Too bad valet isn't free anymore, but that's a different subject.

3) SSR...has a very relaxed feel to the resort.

4) BLT. We (my parents and I) stayed in a studio. My DH and I are POINTS POOR (well, not THAT bad - 220) and can't afford a 1 BR there. I really think they dropped the ball when designing the studios. Even the size could be different, if space was "borrowed" from the 1 BR side. The convenience to MK is great, though! But...the studios... To each his own...I was really hoping for a nice studio there, but DVC didn't provide that.


We're trying THV in August with our grown kids. Can't wait for that! And MAYBE trying OKW in January in a 1 BR with my parents. Still thinking about that one.

We always have a car, so the bus system is never an issue for us. I like convenient parking the best. Especially if I have my parents along...they have a HA parking placard. lol But alas, our future visits together are numbered, I think, as they're in their 86th year, bless their hearts.
