I have two. The first was when I made it home for Christmas while I was in the Navy and my whole family was there. We went to Christmas eve services and stayed up most of the night catching up with each other. My other would be the first Christmas with my DW. We had a little apt and a cheap..really cheap artifical tree. But it sure looked good to us. :teeth: Whats yours?

OMG there are many.

One of the best was when DD(4th child) was born, just 2 weeks before Christmas. It was awesome having a tiny baby, just seemed so appropriate, our own little angel that year.

One of the funniest was when our #2 DD was born in early November, and I used to carry her around in one of those Snuggli front carriers. We went to a place to cut your own Christmas tree, and to keep her warm, I had her in the carrier, inside my big down coat. Everyone was asking when I was due. Imagine their surprise when I unzipped the coat and there she was! The tree farm owners said she was the youngest kid they ever had there picking out a tree!! :rotfl:

I have so many but there's one in particular that my family always talks about.

When we were kids, we always had to wait to have Christmas until all the grandparents arrived at the house. One set was always REALLY early, my grandmother was always late. :teeth: My window was right next to the front door and I was still asleep when I heard this knocking on the window and this deep gruff voice said, "HO, HO, HO!" My older sister was in the room with me and I turned to her and said in tones of deep awe, "It's Santa Claus!" It was my grandfather. :rotfl: I was about 5 and I still remember it vividly at 42.

DD and I love to watch the videos of her opening gifts as a little one. One year, every time she'd pick up a package, she'd smile at the camera and say, "I bet it's sumpin special!" She was about 3 and, oh, so cute!

Mine's sort of a collection of memories. I love how DH always tries to make things so special for all of us. He always went overboard with the whole Santa thing, leaving a tuft of Santa's beard behind with the half-eaten cookies, and shaking sleigh bells late at night. Last year was our last for that because DD doesn't believe any more. I'm sad.

Also, every year, DH does a treasure hunt with my gifts. :goodvibes He'll leave clues all over the house and I have to solve them in order to find my next gift. One clue always leads to a box of chocolates and another clue always leads to a kiss.

I loved the first christmas with my DS who was 10 months old. He was the first grandchild. My sisters, first time aunts, dressed him in a red and green warm up suit and put reindeer horns on him. It was fun watching everyone else be excited.

We had seperate bedrooms, but my little brother and I always slept in the same bed on Christmas Eve when we were kids. As we got older and the idea of sleeping in the same bed was "gross," one of us would sleep on the floor, and the other in the bed.

Whoever woke up first (usually about 5am) woke the other one up. We didn't DARE leave the room!! We were't allowed to wake up mom and dad until 6:30am, so we always had a bunch of books and magazines stockpiled to keep us occupied for those last long hours! I vividly remember going through 2 or 3 "Where's Waldo?" books one early Christmas morning.

Later in life...

One Christmas Eve, my then-BF (now fiance) went driving through a local park. It was night-time, and snowing gently. We were listening to "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on the CD player. We drove slowly around for 45 minutes or so, just enjoying the soft music and the snow. It was so romantic and that CD always brings back wonderful memories. :goodvibes
