What is your favorite Castaway Cay cabana and why?

Cabanas question for everyone. Assume you win the cabana lottery and get first pick of any cabana at CC - which one do you pick and why? Besides family beach vs. serenity bay, does it really matter? What are the differences if any?

Thanks in advance for the help!

We've only been on the family beach. Our favorites are located between 3 and 8. Below 3 and you are too close to the demarcation line. Above 8 and the trek to get food is a bit too long. Also, the water just in front of the higher-numbered cabanas is often too shallow to swim, depending on the tides.

This is a great summary. We were just there and had #6, and the above is very accurate.

#9. Family beach, best view of ship. That being said, we had #3 this past trip. Best hammock in the shade for most of the day( I napped in it twice! 😂) and short walk to food and restrooms

I would generally agree with this but when we were there in August, the family beach infront of 1-10 was extremely rocky and hard to walk on in bare feet.

I just received the email notification for requests coming next week. Thanks to this thread, I am putting in my request email for a family beach cabana in this order: 6, 3, 9 or 8.

Thanks DISBoards!!!

#24 (on Serenity Bay). To be fair, it's the only one we've had but we really enjoyed it last time so requested it again for the EBTA!

I think our one and only time so far was #6 but it could have been #5. Close to food and bathrooms.

I’m silver and booked #27 last night. Couldn’t believe it when it was listed. Nervous about if it will be worth it for just me and my husband but can always cancel. We have been to Castaway 4 times so it could be something special and different for us. Is this a good location?

Wow! Which cruise?

A concierge lead told me (Feb 15 E. Caribbean Treasure) that people list on FB to find cabana-mates to defray some of the cost. Try that perhaps?

We’re on the Dream April 3-7th. I am not on any facebook groups so this was just me looking at possible openings for beverage tastings and the cabana was listed.

I never thought of sharing the cabana with someone. That could work but I think we will look at this as our one splurge and keep it for ourselves.
