What is your "dream" routine?

My internet has been down all month so I have less than a week to try and win a dream item. I'm just wondering what seems to be the most effective way to increase your chances of finding a host? Do you sit in the same room for a long time although I know vmk says not to do this? Do you keep playing your games as usual or do you run like a madman through the different rooms until you find one?

Oh, and is it typical to have a hard time getting into the room the host is already in? I know I was trying to get into hide and seek forest this afternoon and say in third place on the queue for a long time before giving up. I don't know if a host was in there but I can't imagine any other reason why the room would be so full and not moving.

I've had my best luck in guest rooms. But it's completely random theres really no way to tell anything. If a host is in a guest room they lock the room meaning you cant get in. Someone else would have to answer about public rooms though I have yet to even see a host in a public room give anything away.

My strategy has become to pick a room with typically fewer instances than others, place my main character in one instance and my secondary character in another instance. That way, if a Host does show up, I have a bit better chance of being in the right instance of the room. Has it worked? Once so far, but once is better than nothing.

I tried running room to room, but that never once worked for me. As it is now, I more or less have to stay in one room. My computer's been acting up so bad lately, just bringing up the map makes me freeze for an hour sometimes (this has happened several times in the last few days). Frustrating because most times I am not afk, but rather I have lost all control of my dopey and dumbo computer. :headache:

So what guest rooms do they show up in? The most popular ones? That seems like the only way to make it at all probable to win anything since there must be thousands of guest rooms.

This whole thing already sounds more than a little frustrating and like chasing one's own tail. Plus, the time waiting around or hunting a host could be spent playing games and earning credits for Halloween. Tough call I guess. :confused3

I won ears and dream room in Fantasyland in the sky and a second pairs of ears (I tried to gift, but could not say the name in VMK) in my own room.

First time I was caught by surprise while chatting with my sister.

Second time I was hosting a earless kids room and meeting a lot of ppl from the Dis.

I think when you stop looking, the dreams find you. ;)

I hear you. If I didn't have oh, let's say, less than five days to try and get any dreams item, I would probably have more of a laid back approach. ;)

In the beginning I switched from room to room but didn't have any luck with it. Once I relaxed and just stayed in a room talking with friends the hosts found me. :goodvibes

Yes we Reccomend talking to friends about shoes... Running for president... Normal things... :lmao:

well, that has only worked once for me, I do not suggest it!! Nothing against you of course Aengus!! LOL:lmao:

Thanks :) you might find this hard to believe but that is the nicest thing someone said to me today LOL

I have been very active during dream times this month, and I really have not had much luck finding hosts. But perception is everything

I have a tough chin tho :)

All three.

I've seen host 4 times in the dream hours this month. Three times I got nothing, 1 time a got a hat and frontierland set.

It is random. They go to public rooms and guest rooms. They go to any instance of a room. I know that some have been successful hopping around hunting out a host, I do not see how this works as there are SOOOO many rooms and instances.

As for how it works:
I was standing in Adventureland Bazaar with friends one day. Fin popped up in the doorway and said, "Congratulations, you have all won the Dreams Pin." We had a few seconds to say, "omg!" "oh wow thanks!" "Yay Fin!" and she said, "Keep Dreaming!" and was gone. Woot Fin!

I was a lucky room winner as well and that time worked a little differently. I was sitting in New Orleans Square in "my spot" on a bench with a friend. There were many others in the room, idk if it was full or not.

Hula entered. Everyone said various, "Hi Hula!" "omg Hula!" "It's Hula!" She said hi to everyone and told us all to stay put as we had just won dream ears and she needed to get titles. Various versions of "yay, thx!" and "omg, yay!" were seen. Then she walked over to the bench were we were sitting and said, "And Jegrezo you are sitting in the lucky seat. You win the room!" :yay: Not entirely sure what happened next as I was on the phone with the friend that was next to me and we were both screaming :rotfl:, but that's the general idea. After that we went to my room, Hula soon showed up, told me that my furniture was in my inventory and gave ears to everyone in the room who did not have them. Rock on Hula!

I have only seen Lily once. I entered a Castle Suite room that has just been won. Lily was talking with some players about Dreams Prizes and the owner booted me. So, I can't tell you how Lily gives out things as I have not seen a Dream moment with Lily. However, I am sure with the same excitement as the other 2 Hosts.

Only Hosts give out prizes, not staff (VMK_ titles).

In my experience, it really is lucky place at the lucky time. If others have figured out a "system," I surely am clueless to it.

I also think that as difficult as it has been to sit and wait and hope to see a host, it can not be an easy month for them either. They know that players are wanting these special prizes and I truly believe they are doing everything they can within the rules they are given to share the magic with as many players as possible. What fun it must be to get to give surprises out all month long!

Good luck. And dont stop dreaming.

Well said :) I really feel this is what sums up everything right now. Though when you least expect it that seems to be when something happens. I have been lucky enough to see hosts twice. The first time was in the Matterhorn after Dream Squad hours and Fin showed up giving a room (for something he was wearing apparently) and the rest of us got ears. I'd only been on about an hour that night. The second time I sat in the fishing chair on Frontierland Dock all day sunday ( OK I admit I had been afk some of the time ) and Lily came in and awarded me the room. I am assuming this had to do with the spot I was in as in Disney Dreams/Jegrezo's situation. Unfortunatly and to my sadness the others in the room were not given anything. It really is all about being in the right place at the right time I feel. Some are amazingly enough way more lucky at being in that right place, right time than others though.

Well, I feel bad for those of you who have been trying for the whole month because I'm a little disenchanted after just one night. :surfweb:

I'm still confused about the queue issue. If there is a line to get in the room, is there a good chance a host is there? And if a host is there and I am in line is there a snowball's chance in you know where that I am going to get in before they award prizes or should I just give up and go someplace else instead?

If there is a queue its to late. Lines cause bigger lines. Most of the lines dont even have a host present, and the ones that do, they are gone long before those lines move. People wont leave with a host there ;)
