What is your dream race?

Now that I have met a lot of runners through training, I am always curious to hear what dream race someone would love to run (of course if money, vacation, training, etc. was aligned) at some point.

Anyone have a dream race?

I of course love all the Disney races and have hopes to run each of them at least once which at this point doesn't seem too far fetched. But, I would love to run in the London Marathon one day. Not sure how I got interested in that but it seems like a good race. :)

Wow, both the big 5 and the Great Wall look like awesome destination races. I'd love to do either. I've been to Africa (Safari) and to the Great Wall, but didn't run in either place so this would be a different perspective. The Great Wall is up there altitude wise. I'd struggle with that one.

I was going to just say something as simple as the NYC marathon. Love NYC and wouldn't mind running this one. Also might actually get the chance to :)

Paris sounds pretty neat too. Don't know much about it but it just sounds like fun.

enjoy,
Duane

Someday, I will run Boston. If I can't get fast enough, then I will run it as a charity runner and simply write one big ole check.

The race that is on my bucket list is Antarctica marathon, although someday I would like to run the Western States 100. (Gotta do a 50-miler first for that one though.)

The tentative plan is to do the Great Wall 1/2 Marathon in 2013.

Other than that I would say the Alaska Cruise Race (John Bingham's)

Here's my list, in no particular order

Bordeaux
Dublin
London
Comrades
Chicago
Avenue of the Giants
Big Sur
Mount Desert Island

In the U.S., I'd love to run NYC and Boston someday.
Out of the U.S., I'd love to run the original marathon in Athens!

I was lucky enough to be selected via lottery to run in the world's current largest half marathon in Newcastle, England. So my current dream race will happen September 18'th in the Bupa Great North Run.

No particular order...

Nike Women's
Dublin
London
Paris
Rome
Comrades
NYC (this will happen in 2012!!)
Chicago
Gore-Tex TransRockies Run3
John Bingham and Coach Jenny's Caribbean Islands Marathon Cruise AND their Tuscany Marathon trip!!!

For some reason Boston holds no appeal to me. No clue why.

The Disney races are obvious.

I'm sure there are others I'm leaving out. But these are the main ones.

I would love to do Dublin and for some reason the Deadwood Mickelson Trail 1/2 sounds like it would be a good one for me...no clue why.:confused3

I would love to do Boston, but I know I could never run fast enough. NY is my Boston, in the lotto this year for the 2nd year. So if I don't get in this year I know I'll run it at the latest in 2013.

Aside from that, I would love to do London or Rome. I think those would be so pretty!!

I know it's not a marathon, but I would love to do the New Year's Eve 4 miler in Central Park in NYC. I think that would be so fun with the Fireworks and everything. My sister's moving to NY this fall, so maybe I'll get to do it this year!

I'd consider it, but I do not take heat well, so Badwater would probably kill me. Hence, my listing the Western States 100. Leadville would be a possibility too. Any race that brags that, on race weekend, all the hotels and all the hospital beds are full has to be a good one, right? :rotfl:

:scared1: You are a lot braver than I would be! No hospital bed for me! :rotfl:

I want to do all the world marathon majors so that includes...
Chicago
Berlin
London
New York (check!)
and the infamous Boston of course

I also would love to run Paris and Big Sur..and the Safaricom in Africa. And then the list of half marathons I would love to do is even longer...I guess I have a lot of running to do :lmao:
