What is your direct/resale percentage breakdown?

If I could pick one resort to be restricted to for the duration, it would probably be Riviera!
Maybe a question for another thread?
That would be a great thread! Interestingly, for us, it would probably be CFW. We absolutely love the Cabins and the ability to bring our dog. Also love how you can park right next to your unit. So convenient!

That said, I hope that Lakeshore Lodge doesn't ruin the Fort, but I fear that it may...

30% direct (CCV)
70% resale (CCV, BWV, HHI)

We stay at our home resorts or one of the original 14 the vast majority of the time, so resale points work just fine for us. But we enjoy also having enough direct points to try out the shiny new things and qualify for a Sorcerer's pass :) .

100% direct. We like Riviera best, so 300 points direct there and added 100 overpriced Poly points so everything can be pooled. Each kid can get 200 points; one kid gets 200 Riviera and the other gets 100 Riviera and 100 Poly. Each will get a direct contract, all have September use years. Hopefully they get along as adults and can periodically vacation together and pool points if they want to hang together.

38% direct (RIV)
62% resale (BWV & PVB)
We're watching the market and plan on buying more resale either BLT or RIV in the next year. We love our RIV direct for the benefits but can't justify the price again unless there's a great fire sale.
All 3 of our boys first choice is RIV so buying resale there and using the direct points for new resorts may be our best bet moving forward.

100% Resale.

I will buy direct sub $190 pretty much anywhere for the membership perks if that ever comes around.

If that doesn't happen within the next 2 years ( we have plans to stay at resorts in the next two years that don't have restrictions) I will buy an SSR SAP contract and rent out my AKV or BLT points whenever I want to stay at Riv, which won't be every year or possibly every 2 years which is why I don't want to buy resale there. I hate feeling locked in to one place. I feel like timeshares are already restricted without adding more restrictions.

Love Riv, but don't feel the current resale prices reflect what only being able to stay at 1 resort should be worth. I would buy for just one restricted resort at the same price Vero is currently going for. I can't imagine what these other resorts that are struggling to be sold direct (CFW) will go for resale.

I used to be in the camp that restricted would retain its resale value, but I've since changed my mind. I think that waiting to buy direct is the smart thing to do, I would be shocked if there isn't some kind of deal that's going to happen with all this uncertainty.

1651 total points - 279 VGF, 160 SS, 181 BLT, 141 BCV, 154 PIT, 229 WLV/BRV, 87 BWV and 425 HH.
892 direct (54%) - 759 resale (48%)
Of the resale points, 599 are old and untestricted (SS, BWV, some BRV and HH) and 160 (HH) are new since restrictions.
I was tempted to buy some RIV direct but after staying there twice, I really didn’t like it.

70% Direct at VGF - 4 contracts total here - 2 150's and 2 75's (purchased this way to evenly divide)
30% Resale BRV - 1 contract 200

Thinking we're finished... but then again... a resale Poly .... or..... maybe something on the EPCOT side for balance.....hmmmm......

Naaa.... we have what we need. That's enough, right?

Unless..... 🤔🤔🤔

50/50

Direct BLT when I first bought in 2008
Resale add on at SSR and BRV in 2020
Direct VGF add on in 2023

I think I'm done adding on, and will use BRV until expiration (the resort expiration that is, not ours but who knows), then maybe SSR. Maybe we can outlast BLT and VGF and still go, but by then our kids will probably have to take us there.
