What is your budget for easter baskets for the kiddos?

I use the same baskets each year :)
they get some candy, a stuffie, and an easter themed book.
past couple of years the stuffie has been a webkinz

$10-15 per basket. Agreed with a previous poster re: stuffies. Stuffies are a must.

My boys are older now (13 and 14) but I still get them a basket. I usually get them a new beach towel, new bathing suit, (a new video game if $$$ allows...this year, not so much LOL) candy and maybe money in a card.

I'd say I spent about $25 for DD's basket for candy, stuffie, and a token gift (movie, etc.). I'm glad to see that New Moon will be coming out, that takes care of it for me;)

When she was little, she always got a nice dress, tights, shoes, and hat. That was the only time she really dressed up and she looked so cute! I miss those days sometimes:)

Everyone's Easter traditions and treats sound wonderful :goodvibes! Altho our kids are grown and we are past the basket stage, now we enjoy making homemade chocolate easter bunnies and other goodies with our grands. We still decorate a small easter tree that the bunny leaves treats under, have a yummy family dinner, followed by egg hunt for grands. Hopefully we'll be rid of our snow by then! :flower3:

I do not go all out. (My philosophy--it's a nice addition to the holiday, but it isn't the big deal about the holiday to try and match it to Christmas or birthdays.)

Kids usually get a chocolate bunny, jelly beans, and other yummy's....a stuffed bunny and I do my best to fine a non-secular Easter item to go with it.

Something fun to wake up to before heading to mass.

I don't really have a budget per se. I just keep it "reasonable"--i.e. no gourmet chocolates or Tiffany Easter Trinket in the basket or anything like that. But since it is simple, I try to make it nice. I don't think I spend more than $20 per basket (3) if I even spend that much.

I spend maybe $50 per kid, varies year to year. They like new baskets/buckets every year. Last year they had these colorful BIG buckets with handles at Target which I overflowed, then the buckets were used for storage in their room. Flip flops, outdoor toys, art supplies, all depends on what I find on sale that year. I don't buy too much candy for the one I make, b/c my mama also goes all out on her baskets with huge chocolate bunnies, peeps, cadbury eggs, robins eggs, etc then we will a bunch of eggs with candy and $1 bills and hide them for the kids, then once they empty them, we usually have to rehide them about 5 times.

my kids get a pair of sandals, a bathing suit, a few summer clothing items, bubbles, skipping ropes, books, sidewalk chalk,a few other small trinkets and a few chocolates/candies. They each get one bigger thing as well (a barbie, transformer, etc...) Prob $50-$70 per child.

We don't have a budget either. We don't spend a whole lot though. I usually put a new nightgown or set of pajamas in there. This year she'll be getting a Bugs Bunny DVD as well. A chocolate bunny, a little bit of candy, and a stuffed animal of some sort. I'll have to go check and see what Target has to offer. They've usually got some really cute stuff. Her birthday is just about a week before, so not too much!

I am not sure how much I spend. I have 3 kids & I try not to have it focus on candy so I guess I spend more then I should.

They each get a chocolate bunny. My son is allergic to dairy so I get him a Divvies bunny.

I usually go to the Walmart cheap Easter section & look for some stuff there that they can play with, out door stuff if possible & they usually play with that stuff the most & alot of times it lasts the longest.

I try to get them a book as well. Some jelly beans & peeps (I like the colorful section at Walmart).

I do try to get them some new out door toys as well

I don't spend much about $20 a basket and I keep the baskets from year to year..there is one little detail we do that most don't and it started with my mom..when were kids one year it was raining so hard that mom didn't know what to do so she hid our baskets in the house and it became a tradition that I have carried on with my kids :thumbsup2

this is the part that is so much fun ..we have made it into a scavenger hunt...I make up clues and they have to follow them to find their baskets..one year I had poems in the color of their baskets so they would know which was theirs..(we had to buy new one that year) but it was so much fun...

now that they are teens I don't know what to..I need a creative idea :goodvibes

What a fun idea!!! I'm afraid we will still have snow on the ground still come Easter, so I might use that one. I love the different colored clues!! I can buy watering cans in different colors and do the same thing. Thanks for sharing!!!

Seriously? For Easter?

The Easter Bunny always hid our baskets when I was a girl- now he hides DDs at our house.

The scavenger hunt idea is really cool- maybe we'll do that this year!

Yep! Its another christmas for them at our house :) yes I'm crazy but its how I grew up. :thumbsup2 We will be getting a swing set for them to share along with bikes, clothes, webkinz and candy.. We love Easter

My kids both have birthdays Christmas week--so like some others here Easter is a good chance to get new things at a warm time of year (or at least spread out the fun even when the items are not summer items). Most years I only spend about 25-30 dollars/Euros for birthdays but I can spend anywhere from 25-100 or so on Easter just depending on the year.
This year will likely be on the high side. We recently got our first ever gaming system (a Wii--because I wanted a Wii Fit) and I would like to get each child a game they would like. Along with that will be some candy, a new spring outfit for each child and some small summer "essentials" (bubbles, chalk) in the baskets. I will also include an Amazon.com cert for DD to buy more Kindle books with (her big ift this year was a Kindle from Grandma) and an iTunes cert for DS. They do not get allowance so it is harder for them to get these things on their own.
I try to fill the plastic eggs with more stuff than candy. I have a couple of wind up bunnies that will fit, neacklaces for each, hair ties for DD and bracelett for DS, pencil sharpeners, etc. There will be some candy in them as well.
