what is youngest you took baby to WDW?

We are in the process of adopting and thought we would not have a baby until way after our next booked trip (January)....Then, we just found out we are next on the list so to say ... I don't want to cancel the trip if we get matched soon, so just getting a feel for what others have done. If we get a baby in October or early November, I could POSSIBLY be ok with taking a 3 month old....just so perplexed! LOL!

My dear in-laws booked us a resort WAY in advance for my first Disney trip ever...I had no idea that I would have a two month old baby to share my first trip with! She did GREAT and so did I! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

We took my daughter when she was turning 5 months old. She absolutely loved it! Her eyes were wide the whole time and she just watched and looked and took everything in. She really enjoyed herself.

She did so well that we didn't mind bringing our son two years later when he was 7 months. He had a different personality. He wasn't as enthused and really didn't sit for the shows.

A two month old still sleeps a lot of the time so it may actually be really easy to take one with you. It's when they want to crawl around that containing them in a seat all day is a little harder.

BTW - during the last trip I was on there we met a family that had a 4 day old! They were taking it on A Small World!

I've taken my daughter at 3 months old and my son at 6 months old. Both times were magical, easy to transport and easy to feed/sleep. For our family, as soon as they crawl aorund 8 months it becomes not fun to travel at all. They just want to crawl everywhere. I try to avoid too much travelling between 8 months and 14 months. For us when they learn how to walk they don't want to go the direction I want them to but by 14 months it's good again.

We took my middle child when she was 2 months old. It was SO easy. I have an adorable photo of Cinderella holding her at the MVMCP on that trip.

The restaurants have special high chairs with the bucket seats like an infant car seat for babies this small - or at least they did in 1998. Some places would let us bring in the stroller if they didn't have the high chairs like that so that she would have some where to "sit" while we ate.

Babies at Disney World really aren't as hard as people think. Disney is set up to accommodate babies. We took our youngest at six weeks. He did great. It was a fun trip.

We took our DD at 2 mos in Jan 09. It was definitely a lot different than other trips. We had to take it really slow, we were stopping every 2 hrs to feed her. At first we were going to baby care centers (I was nursing) and it felt like we spent the first 2 days just in the baby care centers. The nice thing is, she could do pretty much everything and they had the child swap for the height restriction rides. I'm pregnant again and due in April which will make baby #2 around 6 months for our next Disney trip, and I wouldn't hesitate to take another baby. DD has been at 2 mos, 8 mos, 12 mos, 14 mos and 16 mos. It just gets better each time! Have fun and congratulations!!!!

the hardest part was controlling my temper.. we got nasty comments.

she slept most of them time.
granted she didnt get to ride anything LOL

This exactly. My 2nd was 2 1/2 months old when we took her. She was very healthy and slept a lot. I still got a dirty look from a CM at the Main sT. bakery which irked me, so be prepared for that. (she had asked me how old the baby was).

DS was 12 weeks (February trip) and DD was 9 weeks (August trip). Both trips were great and they were both so easy to take care of. DS slept through the night for the first time while we were at Disney and DD only was being fed once a night by the time she went.

I have never been with a baby but knowing my kids and what they were like at that age, it wouldn't have been a problem. They were both GREAT day sleepers. They were also good night sleepers, both slept through the night around 3 months of age. But I couldn't imagine going there with a baby that wakes several times a night...sleep deprivation and Disney don't sound like a good combination to me!

I don't understand how you physically could go 3 days postpartum. Figure you have a baby on Monday, stay in the hospital 2 days so getting out Wednesday, then Thursday going to WDW? At 3 days postpartum I was still heavily bleeding, engorged, having horribly painful cramps while nursing and passing big clots if I overdid it at all. I could not imagine walking around the block let alone around an amusement park. And WHY would you go 3 days postpartum? I'm not meaning that to sound judgemental, I'm just wondering the thought process of "I just had a baby 3 days ago and now going to WDW today sounds like a logical choice". Again, not meaning to sound rude. I had to take my last baby to the drs on her 3rd day and dh and I decided to run into Target real quick to look at pacifiers and I had to stop every minute or 2 to rest, could not imagine riding rides and walking around WDW.

We took our daughter when she was only 2 1/2 months old. She didn't like her stroller so I had to carry her most of the time but other than that it was pretty easy. Take advantage of the baby care place. It was nice to have somewhere cool and quiet to take a break with baby. Congrats and good luck!!!!

I took my oldest at 6 weeks. I was worn out, dealing with ppd, and my sweet husband suggested we go anywhere I wanted, and I chose WDW. He had never been, so he, my mom, and my sweet little guy and I piled into the Honda and headed down in July for a week.

We took it very easy, and were very careful of the heat. It was a lovely break kind of visit. At 3 months, you will be fine. Good luck and blessings on this journey. It isn't easy.

We just went this past June with our 4 week old. We kept a slow pace and took breaks in the worst heat of the day. We kept him covered as much as possible and had a fan for him. He did wonderfully! He even rode several rides that did not have a height restriction.

We took DS#1 at 9 weeks and DS #2 on his first trip at 2.5 weeks. They have each been numermous times in babyhood and they have been our easiest trips!

I think a 3 mo old in Jan would be fine - you don't have to worry about too hot of weather that time of year. The only concern is the cold/flu season, so plan for lots of hand washing, etc. (for you and your husband, because you never know what you come in contact with), to help keep baby from getting sick (but even if baby does catch a cold/flu, it's not the end of the world, just a little scary if it's your first and you're not used to it). I would plan to take some baby tylenol and nasal saline spray/nasal apirator just in case you need it.

I would also plan a baby carrier - many babies do not like the stroller at that age, and are happiest being close to you.

DS was just under 3 months when we went to Disney but the 1st time we went on a vacation with him he was 7 weeks old. We took him to the mountains at that time.
Back to Disney. At 3 months old he was the most portable he has ever been! We had his stroller and a bjorn and it was cake.

And just as a side note, people who live in the Orlando area use disney just like the rest of us use malls. It's a place to go, so you see lots of kids of various age ranges.

ETA that we went in May. We were there for my 1st Mother's Day and we did the EPCOT Brunch. Man, I miss that brunch!
