What is Wrong With My Kids!!!

My girls are about the same age as yours - they don't even like to discuss Disney until we are on our way. I guess that is why I have to spend time here ... people here love to discuss trip planning!

Neither my kids nor my husband get too excited about anything until it's actually in-process. The girls do help me pack...DH throws some stuff in his suitcase the night before. Other than that, the just want to know what time they're going to have to get up.

Well here we are a month from the trip. Our first ever trip to the World. My kids have helped make the countdown calender, and are excited to check it off daily, but I am not feeling their love.

I told them we are 30 days away, and I get a little " cool, or okay " but for goodness sakes, you would think I had told them we were going skating, or the playground or something...:

Do you think it may stem from the fact they have no clue what they are going to see, so therefore they have nothing to compare it to? They have seen the videos, and DVD's, but you know how those are.

I know that once they get there it will be on like Donkey Kong, and it will be all my wife and I can do to keep up with them, but geez, I feel like I got Debbie Downer living with me.

Please confirm that all good things will come, and that I am not getting all worked up over nothing.

P.S. I am the only one that has ever been in the family, and it has been 20 years. I am jumping out of my skin to play and have fun.

I think a lot of people ( kids and grownups alike ) think it's "just an amusement park with characters" ... you know? I know a friend of ours' DS kinda wanted to go to Disney, but she told us recently "Meh he changed his mind, we'll just go to St Petersburg instead"... And TO ME that's pure madness... I've had more than one co-worker ( and even a customer who knew I was into Disney ) tell me they were going. After a pep talk about what was there, they started getting excited, and when they got back, they were blown away... I'm sure your kids will be too
