What is within walking distance on Grand Cayman?

I saw on another thread that the Hard Rock is just off the ship. What else is within walking distance that might be interesting to see or do? Our party consists of me, dh, and boys 12 and 14. Thanks!

There are a number of snorkeling places within walking distance, and you can also pick up tours from independent operators to places like the turtle farm, Stingray City, or the beach right at the pier. You can also take a glass bottom boat from the pier.
There are also lots of stores...my favorite is the rum cake shop, although I'm not sure how suitable it would be for the kids

The Cayman National Museum is close by, and, as Barb said, there is LOTS of shopping within easy walking distance.

It is also a short walk to the Atlantis Submarine place if you are interested in taking a sub ride.

If you have any interest in horseback riding on the beach, try Nicki's - my 8 year old son and I had the most wonderful, relaxing and fun time with her last August. Great horses and you can't beat the memory of riding on the surf for anything!!!

In our opinion, Capt. Marvin's was in walking distance. It was probably 3/4 mile from the pier, maybe 1 mile tops. Many shops along the way. Del Sol was pretty much right off the pier.

I think most of the beaches are a cab ride away though.

Captain Marvin's is MUCH closer than 3/4 of a mile. My wife was comfortable (other than being thirsty) with our walk from the Nautilus and we passed Captain Marvin's on the way back. She has problems some times with her legs cramping and a walk of one mile after being in air conditioning and sitting down would have been very difficult, so I know it wasn't that far. We found Grand Cayman to be fairly compact in terms of the shopping area and port area. As I recall, Captain Marvin's was just a few hundred yards (a bit more than a quarter mile in my estimation) from the tender dock. Quite an easy walk even in the heat.
