Part vent and part
We all know about the 2000 voting FL fiasco.
As a new Floridian I am truly puzzled by how in the heck this state manages anything voting related.
I guess this election is the first election they are allowing early voting. For around the last week voters in this county have had 8 different locations where they can vote early. Tomorrow the regular precincts will be open.
Thinking we would get our voting out of the way we arrived Sunday (yesterday) at opening.
Someone told me today the line was a quarter of a mile long. And that would not surprise me.
We had PS at MK for dinner, to be followed by MNSSHP.
If we stayed we were guessing it would be up until the time we would have to leave for the party. and miss the PS. We stayed a short time and the line did not seem to be moving at all.
I took off work today. I thought 1:00 p.m. would be a good time to stand in line.

Well, the line was 1/3 or 1/4 of what it was yesterday and they were estimating it was a three hour wait to vote.
The sun was broiling and we were having to stand in full sun on a asphalt parking lot.
I decided to take my chances tomorrow morning.
DH waited, and still is waiting for all I know. He arrived there almost 4 hours ago.
He said they were cutting off the line at 5:00 p.m. With even that he is guessing not everyone in line will be done voting until 9:00 p.m. tonight.
Part of the problem -- ONE computer was being used to check voters in. One computer used to check them out.
I will not be surprised if the FL voting gets raked over the coals again.

I hope everyone else on my block voted, or they will be turned away.
