What is Vacatia?

I didn't know that DVC approved any resale sites. What bearing would this "approval" have on people wanting to buy resale?

My understanding is that Disney refers owners who want to sell to their business partner brokers and they collect a fee to do so. It's for sellers, not buyers.

I'm not sure about "approved" but at one time Fidelity was the resale broker that DVC directed people to when they wanted to sell their contracts since DVC won't buy them back. That company seems to have lost their most favored status.

What seems really curious to me is the fact that while the vast majority of DVC properties are in Florida they have decided to endorse a company in San Francisco CA. It's a head scratcher for sure.

It is an Internet company. Probably no physical storefront.

Not to mention they are not a player in the dvc resale arena... not really a head scratcher.. Disney wants the resale listings to be buried. If the listing are hard to find and the company isn't a big seller, then Disney has no resale problems...

I am still new to DVC, but it seems short sighted of Disney to be so anti-resale. One of the reasons I felt comfortable buying into DVC was the ability to get out if needed. Without a quality resale market I would never invest in DVC and I would expect they would not be able to sell at such a high price or at such a high volume.

Disney makes their money on selling direct and selling to novice buyers who don't fully understand what they are buying or their relationship with Disney/DVC after the sale.

Yep - Disney makes most of their DVC money by selling direct to people who don't ask the question, "So what happens if my circumstances change and I need to sell?"
