So I just lost 45 minutes of my life waiting on the phone with Ticketmaster and was hung up on 3 times. Now I'm not only angry with Ticketmaster but it's also spilled over to me being angry with the event and no longer interested in buying my tickets.

I wonder, do you think the venue's know ticketmaster is turning away business by hanging up on people. Seriously, who turns away business in these times?

I called them because I was having a hard time figuring out availability for a multi time venue and all the system did was make me answer a stupid interactive automated question over & over until they hung up on me, 3 times! There has got to be a better way. That's all, last laugh is on them because I am keeping my money.

FWIW, for the biggest events, the venue generally isn't directly affected. Rather, the venue is paid by the promoter, a flat-rate and percentage perhaps. So it is the promoter who is really the one who would be most concerned. However, I believe they look at TM as a necessary evil. They need to sell tickets in an efficient manner. I think this is one of those things were efficiency wholly-and-completely trumps service, because there is often no other way to get what is being sold, and so few consumers have the quality consciousness that you have.

I phoned TM as well as a few other people because Adam Lambert tickets sold out in literally 5 seconds, and we were hung up on by actual people like 8 times.

I've boycotted Ticketmaster. Completely refuse to deal with them. If that means I'll never get to see any larger acts, then so be it.

We'd had customer service issues with them for a few years, but the icing on the cake was a Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana concert a few years ago. We didn't figure on getting tickets because we knew the brokers would get to them first, but lo and behold, we ended up with killer seats! The only problem is, the system was so overloaded, our sale didn't go through. We called customer service and the guy actually laughed at us and said, "What do you expect us to do? GIVE you tickets based on your word?" DH said, "No, but an apology would have been nice."

Just horrible. It's a racket and I won't contribute to their bottom line.
