What is up with Shrek 4D's chairs?

Just wanted to chime in and add how much I HATE the Shrek attraction. The queue is horrible and I find the attraction to be loud and obnoxious. The character voices are sooo irritating. My memory of the ride might be a little foggy since I've only ridden it two or three times. (Yes, I hate it that much) but I can't help and associate the ride with heat. It is so crowded that I think it feels uncomfortably hot in there plus all the noise from the seats and the loud annoying character voices make it all just a very unpleasant experience. I love the movie but the attraction not so much.

The voices in the attraction are the same as those in the movie.

When you look at the front of the building we walked along the right hand side and followed the line to the back of the building.

Sounds like it might've been the second theater. I remember it being louder in there too.

We were there last week and the seats do move most of the time (any physical action onscreen.) The theater was pretty much full and the noise from the air compression was loud but not out of character with the experience. What I did notice was when the lights came on how 'dungy' the theater looked especially the flooring (gum/dirt etc.) One thing Disney has on Universal is the upkeep of those 'little' items. Another example in Seuss land the 1-2 fish ride had a lots of peeling paint/rust that Disney would have addressed.

I agree. I noticed it most on the Dr. Seuss carousel. The bars you hold on to had huge section of paint missing and you saw the rusty brown bar under it. Even the pic I took of DH on the ride showed how bad it is.

I have experienced the attraction in both theaters. I do not feel the air noise is meant to imitate the galloping, as this happens even when the horse part is not happening on the screen. This is the noise that operates the chairs. I also find the noise to be extremely irritating and distracting. I truly don't like the attraction that much because I get a seat that either doesn't hardly move at all, or moves so much that it throws me all around very jerkily. I've only ridden it once where I thought it was a perfect movement.

Shrek is right behind Philharmagic as far as my favorite 3-D shows.

I think Disney used to be really up to date on their "little" items. There have been lots of complaints about the parks being lacking in attentiveness lately.

The parks were immaculate just before Potter's opening but the parks have been ASSAULTED since then. Let's hope they find time to put in a little TLC soon.

That and also the fact that maintenance has been busy with HHN. When the park doesn't close until 2 AM and usually not clear of guests until close to 3 AM, that leaves very few hours to accomplish everything that needs to be done. By 8 AM or sooner, the rides have to be up and running. So most of those 5 hours were probably spent cleaning up after the HHN crowds. I was just amazed how fast they were able to disassemble the HHN houses and props and get everything ready for Christmas decorations.

A few years ago, chipping paint and dirty restrooms would have never been found at Disney but things have changed a bit there. I think the economy and cutbacks have affected all of the themeparks since 9-11.
